Bishop Removes Catholic Tag on Hospital Doing Abortion

Bishop Thomas Olmsted of the Diocese of Phoenix has removed the Catholic designation from St. Joseph’s Medical Center because of a controversial abortion it performed last year.

This one seems pretty simple to me. Catholic hospitals don’t perform abortions. The spin doctors might want to rationalize or justify murder, but at the end of the day you really can’t do it. The Bishop’s action, while somewhat belated, is totally justified.

I only wish that the Bishop had done this sooner.
Of course things have to go through processes. We can’t be doing stuff on impulse. Good this this has been done, let us applaud the Bishop.

Perhaps he tried to get them to apologize for it, and when they would not this is the result.

Good. This needs doing regularly. I don’t know if Catholic hospitals are actually funded by the Catholic Church, but if they are, they should lose that too. Not just the name. They can give the money to some needy hospitals who are loyal to the Church, and provide medical services, without committing murder on site. Who wants that associated with our commitment to life as Christ’s Church.

God bless the Bishop,

Steven

GOOD! 👍

Now if only the Church leadership would come out and excommunicate various “catholic” politicians who are causing all kinds of grave scandal by supporting child killing and other less then savoury moral standards.

Horribly tragic that a child was killed though.

I see.

👍:clapping::clapping::sad_yes:

This needed to happen but it’s sad that the original operation happened in the first place.

When I lived in AZ and Bishop Olmsted came in, we were ecstatic!! A good and holy man is Bishop Olmsted. The Phoenix Diocese was in desperate need of him at the time and I knew that God had guided that appointment.
