Bishop Robert Barron on the McCarrick bishop scandal and report from Archbishop Viganò
Friends, many of you have asked for my thoughts on the McCarrick abuse crisis, the Pennsylvania grand jury report, and the recent report from Archbishop Viganò. We’re all devastated by the horrific suffering of these many victims, and we’re all wondering what to do next. I shared some thoughts a couple weeks ago, in an article, but I thought it might be helpful to have a more candid conversation today, building on the USCCB’s statement just released (President of U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Renews Commitment for Greater Effectiveness and Transparency in Disciplining Bishops | USCCB), which I wholly support. Please watch the discussion below, and together let’s pray for the victims and the entire Body of Christ.

I listened to this yesterday. Parts of it multiple times. Excellent perspective from one of our Bishops.

Bp. Barron’s words and perspective brought me a lot of Peace in this matter.

How is posting a link to what a bishop said “agenda-posting”?

Agenda posting is when one person repeatedly posts the same topic/opinion over and over to support their way of thinking/agenda. The OP has numerous threads on the same topic and numerous links within each thread to advance his agenda.

Be that as it may, I do think Bishop Barron’s is one of the more thoughtful and helpful responses to all the various goings on of the past month or so. I already linked to this video in the larger thread on this topic as I thought the mods wanted us to keep the conversation on the topic in the one thread. I do think that’s a good idea. Otherwise, it seems like we just have the same conversation taking place in a dozen different threads.
