  1. Can Trinitarians show that three divine persons were present when Jesus was baptized by John? Absolutely not. The one, omnipresent God used three simultaneous manifestations. Only one divine person was present–Jesus Christ the Lord.
I remember when I came to the realization that Jesus was Creater (not the old Man with the beard in great works of art) and God in the burning bush, etc. I was all excited and telling my friends, and they were like “And?..” LOL

I was going along with most of your numbered points, but we part ways at point #56.

Matthew 22:44
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

Matthew 26:64
Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Mark 16:19
So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”
~1 Corinthians 13:12

I don’t have to look at your religion to see you are a stereotyping bigot.

Please refrain from addressing me in the future.
Perhaps this is a case of “takes one to know one”?

It is true, you are a Protestant, whether you know it, or not. You reject the Apostolic Teaching. It is very likely that you never were exposed to it. This is not uncommon for the descendants of the Reformers.

You may wish to make use of the “ignore” function. 😉

I have no religion, proof that not everyone is denominational. Seems Catholics are very hung-up on denominations. It strikes me as stereotyping - like they want to pigeonhole everyone that’s not Catholic into a box and label them. I’ve never seen anything like it until I came here.
Yes you have a religion, a religion with only one member perhaps, but still a religion.

From your previous posts here you are espousing Protestant Fundamentalist teaching, therefore you are a member of a Protestant denomination.

You cannot say logically that you are “non-denominational”.

And please spare me the old “I don’t have a religion, I have a relationship” nonsense, just that saying is Protestant denominational.
Pipper, I appreciate your post to me. I DO understand where you are coming from, but I don’t throw the word “bigot” around loosely. If someone says they have no religion, ask yourself why you feel the need to correct them. And “please spare me” (fill in the blank) only shows your intolerance to anything you don’t agree with, as well as the assumption you have someone so pegged that you know their every response. You don’t HAVE to agree with people, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

big·ot bíggət ] (plural big·ots)
noun

Definition:

intolerant person: somebody with strong opinions, especially on politics, religion, or ethnicity, who refuses to accept different views

You think this because you are not familiar with the history of Christianity, and do not realize that all of your beliefs can be traced back to specific points where various men separated from the Catholic faith.
Seems Catholics are very hung-up on denominations. It strikes me as stereotyping - like they want to pigeonhole everyone that’s not Catholic into a box and label them. I’ve never seen anything like it until I came here.
It is sometimes helpful to know the source of theological error. Sometimes it makes it easier to address the problem. You are right, though, pigeonholing is not ulitimately very useful.

Because the sad fact that you do not know the Truth does not make the Truth go away. You may say “the Truth does not apply to me”, indeed you may not allow it to apply to you, but there is objective Truth, and your refusal to receive it does not nullify it.
You don’t HAVE to agree with people, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
This is absolutely true. However, your opinion does not define Truth, either.

Thanks, gr8ful, but even without the dictionary, your deportment has been definition enough. 😉

gr8tful,

Please accept my humble appologies if you think I was calling you a bigot. In my last post to you I was calling the church where I was raised saved, and baptised, and my mother bigots. I would never call you personally a bigot.

Not you. Pehaps you misread or misunderstood my meaning in that mini-biography.

Hoping for friendship, and mutual understanding,

The Pip:)

P.S. I have had a bad stroke and often have problems making myself understood.

No, I understood you perfectly, and you are being quite kind under the circumstances, in other words a true Christian. Don’t be afraid to speak your mind here at CAF and welcome. Hope your recovery is going well.

I’ve heard of certain people being referred to as Prophets, or taking that as a name for themselves…thats another one that gets me to go 🤷

I’m curious as to how TD Jakes has the title of “Bishop”. How can he be a Bishop, if the church he is pastor at is one he started himself? Who gave him this title? himself? Or is there some sort of test out there that one takes to become a “Bishop”?
Bklynbrat,

It is fact since the Protestant reformation any protestant can start his or her own church and call themselves pastor or bishop but not one of theses would be under the Succesors of the Apostles.

I don’t know how TD Jakes got his title wether he got his title from someone or self proclaimed. Truth is he will never be a true Bishop in line with the successor of the Chruch Jesus Christ founded 2000 years ago and going strong, the Catholic Church.

I’m in agreement with you to put this misunderstanding behind us, moving forward, hoping for friendship. 🙂

My best friend had a stroke 3 years ago. She was such a great writer before her stroke, and praise God, she still writes as eloquently as ever. Her whole life changed after her stroke, and she has learned how to “lie down in green pastures”. There has only been one lasting change that I can see, that’s noticeable I mean, and that’s her confidence about her memory. There hasn’t been a time that she didn’t tell me something she thought she had told me, but she’s never sure if she told me or not. He long term memory was unaffected.

My friend had her stroke while in the waiting room at emergency, and it was a bad stroke. Fom the day she got back on her feet again, she became her own (or best) doctor and studied what had happened to her and worked at getting her blood pressure down, studied supplements that would help her body heal, and she’s down to just one of the meds a day now. God is good, and she is quick to give Him all the glory.

How long has it been since your stroke? If you don’t mind me asking.

Thank you for that. I knew he didn’t have Apostolic Succession, I just wondered if he had his own version so to speak of apostolic succession. Someone here gave a link, & he was given the title Bishop, by the “Greater Emmanuel Churches”, whomever they be…🤷

It has been four years since I had mine, I was only 47 years old at the time. My bllood presure is way down now at last. it tooka lot of experimenatation (under Dr.s supervision)to get it down. Besides the prescriptionm meds I take garlic, fish oil, and green tea capsules, the hardest part has been trying to get off salt. I exercise the bestt I can myupper body & arms, but I just can’t do much with my legs, and use a walker or cane to get around.

Mentally abd brain wise is the worst, I have no memory to speak of, shake like a leaf, and black out for short periods, and of course I can no longerdrive. I cannot work of course, so I try to survive on SSI and medicaid. But every cloud has it’s silver lining! I live in the country with lots of space, and have time to garden, and to just sit in mywalker and watch the birds, and rabbits, and every night I hear the coyotes singing to me. I now live with a live-in nurse/roomate who I met when he was taking care of first my Dad then Grama, and then me in the hospital.

I make the best of things, and in many ways life is better now a lot of ways than before, living in the quiet country, my fur babies, enjoying my garden I Finally do have time to stop and smell my roses, and best of all I can now be late ti bed at late to rise.

Wow, Pip! That’s the life!!

You and I are the same age. 🙂 My friend who had the stroke is two years older than me - like a big sister almost. That is so cool that the nurse that took care of your Father and Grandmother is now taking care of you.

Thank you for sharing. It is a testament that after all you have endured, you are still praising God and recognizing the benefits He has brought to your life. You are in my prayers for a complete healing.:hug1:
