Lol, no he is not. He is being attacked for suggesting “Pride” events Encourage and promote sinful behavior. Are you suggesting that “Pride” parades are healthy, family friendly venues?
 
Well, this is the sad consequence of the priest scandal. Whenever the clergy denounces anything related to sex they are immediatly dismissed because of the scandal. Really is a shame.

At least part of the outcry, though, was the juxtaposition of the Church scandals and the comment that Pride events are “harmful to children.” A number of the responses (including the one from Mia Farrow) referenced the scandals.
 
That is not what the outcry is about. The outcry is that Bishop Tobin, after saying Catholics cannot support Pride events, said that Pride events are harmful for children. They are upset that he would suggest children should not be exposed to the promotion of homosexuality as a good, especially the flamboyant license promoted at Pride events. They only attacked him with swipes about clerical abuse as a way to delegitimize his point, not because they were concerned about child sexual abuse in the moment. This can be evidenced by the very same people promoted and celebrated minors, young boys aged 8-11, engaging in drag strip shows in gay bars and saying they were happy to be gay to the applause of their parents. Thus proving Bishop Tobin’s point.
