VATICAN CITY – Rejecting any change to celibacy for priests, bishops from around the world suggested dioceses share clergy and step up recruiting to cope with a priest shortage that makes it difficult for many Roman Catholics to attend mass regularly, the Vatican said Saturday.

The 250 prelates attending the Oct. 2-23 Synod of Bishops have drawn up an initial set of proposals to vote on in the coming week and present to Pope Benedict XVI for his consideration in a future document. Bishops want dioceses to share scarce priests

And my personal favorite suggestion from the article. 🙂
AP:
Several bishops also complained about the timing of the sign of peace that Catholics exchange before receiving Communion, saying it disrupts the solemnity of the sacrament.

THERE IS NO PRIEST SHORTAGE!!! THERE’S A FAITH SHORTAGE and it is the fault of the bishops constantly ordaining priests who don’t believe in the teachings of the church.

There is a blueprint for vocations - GO TO NEBRASKA, or take a look at St. Agnes in St. Paul
