Bit of a scrupulous question

Just say some guy named Joe has his letterbox stolen. He then retrieves it, but has to go onto the person’s property to retrieve it.

Now is it wrong to take photos of the letterbox after this has happened? I think I’m being a bit scrupulous but meh.

Not a lot of information here? Did the person steal it or did the thieves throw it on his property? Is he photographing the letterbox on the person’s property or after he retrieved it.
