Sheesh. How many people are married to someone who they thought was Mr. or Miss Right, and it turns out that they didn’t perceive these flaws, even if there were so many red flags that they should have assumed they were in China? How many people are living in disastrous shams of marriages because they ignored the warnings of family and friends where the prospective partner’s flaws were so obvious before the wedding that the prospective bride/groom should have run for their lives?

And how many of these people get divorced and then go on to repeat practically the identical mistake?

Einstein once gave a definition of insanity as repeating the same thing and expecting different results.

I think the tribunal’s commentary, even if it was worded that harshly, was an act of mercy for this lady, and pray that seeing some sort of commentary on the state of her prior marriage in black and white will eventually lead her to some introspection and correction of whatever it was in her own personality that made her ignore her ex’s disordered sexual behavior and marry him anyways. I hope that in time she will get over the sting to her pride that this commentary precipitated, and I pray that she will reconcile with the Catholic Church. I pray all of this not only for the salvation of her soul, but her sanity and future happiness, certainly before she goes out and finds another bozo, whether she does that with or without the sanction of the Church!
