Bl. Miriam Teresa Demjanovich

Is anyone a devotee of Bl. Miriam Teresa Demjanovich? Even though the US only has three Blesseds at this point, it seems like we hear quite a lot about Bl. Stanley Rother and Bl. Solanus Casey, but relatively little about Bl. Miriam Teresa Demjanovich. I wondered if it was because she was Ruthenian Catholic. Despite the fact that I work close to New Jersey, I only found out she existed when I was looking at lists of US saints on Wikipedia. I’ve never seen a prayer card of Bl. Teresa Demjanovich in a church or heard anything about her, while I see cards of the other two guys and hear about them frequently.

It seems like her spiritual writings might have been important in her sainthood cause, but I never see copies of those anywhere either.

Thank you Bear, for introducing me to her.She died so young .Her story, her photo …I feel like I know her in a way now 🙂

I became aware of Bl. Miriam when I was reading about the Benedictine monks of Newark and Morristown, NJ. Some of the monks used to teach and serve as chaplains at St. Elizabeth’s College and Convent in Convent Station, where Bl. Miriam lived, and one of those monks, the late Fr. Stephen Findlay, became a postulator for Sr. Miriam’s cause for canonization.
