On Tuesday morning, a 19-year-old black man in Columbus, Ga., reportedly entered an AutoZone and stabbed a white employee in the neck. Police arrested the suspect, Jayvon Hatchett, on Wednesday. At his arraignment Thursday morning, Hatchett reportedly said he decided to stab a “random” white man after watching videos of police shootings
So the anger spills over into innocent people.

.

Do you think this is normal behavior? If not, guess what: there are Blacks who behave abnormally just as there are Whites who do so.

This is another story and another attack.

“Michael was stabbed Tuesday night while walking his dog in his apartment complex. A man jumped over his patio and attacked him. Michael has a 5 month son and is a the main household provider. He cannot work the next 6 weeks due to a surgery and collapsed lung. We are raising money for medical bills and his future doctor visits. Anything would be greatly appreciated!” the GoFundMe reads.

Local station 9 News reports, “Sinclair continued saying, ‘Black lives matter’ to police when they arrived according to the first officer on scene. That officer wrote that Sinclair had his hands up and said ‘I stabbed him, I’m a psychopath,’ refused to sit down and ‘insisted’ that officers should shoot him. He was arrested without incident according to the report.”
He called out Black Life Matters before attacking this man. These are random attacks.

Yes, random attacks by crazy people. it happens all the time by people who have mental problems. But I should also point out that most people who have psychological issues are NOT violent.

People who holler Black Lives Matter. He was charged with a hate crime. They can’t all be crazy.

I’m gonna have to agree with gam197 on this. I don’t think it can all be attributed to craziness. Some of it is just politically or racially motivated violence.

And he ‘insisted’ that officers shoot him, while calling himself a psychopath. In my book, that constitutes crazy, abnormal behavior.

Maybe he thought he would become a martyr for the cause, have his name in the news and riots in his name.

I don’t think speculating and alleging a target outcome is helpful or informative.

Speculating that he is crazy seems to be fine?

I think it can be stated that his behaviour is atypical. But his mental health information is not known. Judge Hunter ordered a mental health evaluation. The results of the evaluation have not, so far as I’ve seen, been released to the public.

I have to admit that your speculation catches my attention more because it is a frequently observed phenomenon. For many previous occurrences, the speculations were only realized to be such after inquiries for the source of information that was never stated in the reports reference.

The defendant has declared the actions that he performed and his motivation in court yesterday. If the court issues a guilty verdict, the declarations that he made open the door for consideration of additional time being added to sentencing under current hate crime legislation.

The man said Black Lives Matter and is being charged with a hate crime. Wouldn’t they have an idea if this man had a history of mental illness. I guess we could say that every person that commits a crime is crazy but the law does not state that.

Not sure what you are trying to communicate. People can say anything.

There is not necessarily a record of the mental health of a person that is experiencing issues. Without records, there is no history to examine. Also, someone with mental health problems in their past is not necessarily experiencing them at the time of a crime.

People regularly speculate that in cases of crimes the person is crazy but we do not know that and there is no indication that this is the case.
