Blair May Become "A Catholic Deacon"

I think we are at cross-purposes here.

What I am asking is why on earth Blair should become ordained as a Catholic Deacon. In what way could the man possibly be qualified for such an important role in the Church?
Perhaps he has felt a calling for a long time. Generally, people do not become Catholic until discerning for a long period of time. Perhaps he has also been discerning a vocation for a long time as well. If he does decide to pursue a vocation, the seminary will determine if he is suitable or not.

This is true.

The gist of the message I was responding to was that, because he had been Prime Minister, he was suddenly automatically qualified to become a Deacon - as though there were some sort of relationship between those two roles - as though being Prime Minister were some sort of training ground for the Diaconate.

Sigh! This Blair conversion story is old hat. It does the rounds every so often. Even if he did he would only join his wife in the cafeteria. His christian faith seems to have no bearing on his politics-how can a follower of christ repeatedly vote for abortion up to birth is beyond me.

Sigh. People thinking this is a Blair conversion post is old hat.😃

We aren’t supposed to be discussing the conversion of public figures like that. I was just inquiring about the implications that he was going to be fast tracked into the diaconate. But it seems it was just faulty reporting.😉
