Our Lord takes a lot, but He will not and does not look kindly upon His Mother being blasphemed by anyone.

Any other religion other than Catholicism in this country, there would be a massive outcry about this.

Thank you for the link, Monica.

Edit: I just checked my diocesan home page. No interest in repairing this blasphemy here. Why am I not surprised?

The SSPX is doing a public Mass of reparation outside the civic center in Oklahoma City with rosary and act of consecration to Our Lady while the Local Bishop does nothing. Not sure the SSPX isn’t in the right on this matter. Mass is at 12 noon on the 15th.

These people would never dream of doing something to publicly or openly mock Muhammad or his mother. You have to at least admire their courage! By sheer chance they just happen to attack the one religious belief whose adherents were taught by its founder to turn the other cheek and pray for their ennemies. I would say their choice of target is really convenient. At least in this life.

As for your second point, the loss of faith is going on at breakneck speed, both within and without the Church. Not a new phenomenon, but its fruits are becoming increasingly evident. LaSalette did not exactly predict a great and glorious ending for Rome, either.

Praying for OKC and those who are participating. Especially those who are ignorant and being fooled.

More and more of this stuff pops up everywhere. On my university campus (public), there was a debate last year when they were going to hold one at Harvard. I’d say 95% of my class was in favor of the Black Mass because they didn’t want to “infringe anyone’s rights”.

That’s where we are going folks, everyone has to have rights now…even those who will perform Black Masses 24/7/365

You are exactly right!! If Satanists tried to take on Muslims, buildings all over the US would be blowing up on Monday. Satanists like to pick on the TRUE religion of peace.

It’s not by chance. The devil knows what and where the Truth is. If he wants to mock God, he mocks Him where He is found.

Pray for them

It’s very sad, especially as someone who lives a short distance from OKC. I’ll be attending a rosary at my parish on that day, I encourage all of you to participate through your private devotions.

Since they are committing sacrilige against a statue of Our Lady, I’m planning on doing reparation with an image of Our Lady too. I’m going to decorate a statue of Mary crushing the serpent, and do a Rosary and Consecration prayer to Our Lady at the same time as the blasphemous events. Apparently it says it is scheduled for 7 pm on Monday in Oklahoma

Wonderful!

I know that makes Our Lady very happy.

:grouphug: :heaven:

I don’t think that’s a shot at Islam, I think it’s merely pointing out that in the United States it’s politically incorrect to insult Islam, and for all intents and purposes all but illegal, but somehow it’s okay to commit sacrilege against Catholic images. I think that comment was meant to be a “shot” at political correctness not Islam itself.

Thank you! That was what I was trying to get across, (although I did have a bet going on how long it would take someone to think that my post was a shot at Islam LOL).

Not fair to say the Local Bishop does nothing.

At a time when the Catholic Church is under severe attack by the political and media establishment, which wants to divide and conquer, I would not consider it prudent to support any group saying they are Catholic but out of unity with the Catholic Church.

As someone living in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City I can testify to the fact that Archbishop Coakley has actively opposed satanic rituals (this is not the first in OKC) and has led the faithful in prayer and Eucharistic adoration and procession. Prior to the last satanic ritual Archbishop Coakley also told all priests to have the faithful pray the Prayer to Saint Michael specifically in response to the blasphemy. Many parishes, including the one I attend, still pray that prayer after mass every Sunday.

You are correct, he is doing something. But how sad that he is participating in an interreligious service. On the Feast of the Blessed Mother’s Assumption he goes to pray with those who do not honor Mary as they should (if they did, they’d be Catholic). Would it not have been better to proclaim our love for the Blessed Mother by celebrating a public Mass, the ultimate Sacrifice in reparation for a sacrilegious ceremony and altar? 🤷

O Blessed Virgin, Mother of God, look down in mercy from Heaven, where thou art enthroned as Queen, upon me, a miserable sinner, thine unworthy servant. Although I know full well my own unworthiness, yet in order to atone for the offenses that are done to thee by impious and blasphemous tongues, from the depths of my heart I praise and extol thee as the purest, the fairest, the holiest creature of all God’s handiwork. I bless thy Holy name, I praise thine exalted privilege of being truly Mother of God, ever Virgin, conceived without stain of sin, Co-Redemptrix of the human race. I bless the Eternal Father who chose thee in an especial way for His daughter; I bless the Word Incarnate who took upon Himself our nature in thy bosom and so made thee His Mother; I bless the Holy Spirit who took thee as His bride. All honor, praise and thanksgiving to the ever-blessed Trinity who predestined thee and loved thee so exceedingly from all eternity as to exalt thee above all creatures to the most sublime heights. O Virgin, holy and merciful, obtain for all who offend thee the grace of repentance, and graciously accept this poor act of homage from me thy servant, obtaining likewise for me from thy Divine Son the pardon and remission of all my sins. Amen.

Most glorious Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, turn thine eyes in pity upon us, miserable sinners; we are sore afflicted by the many evils that surround us in this life, but especially do we feel our hearts break within us upon hearing the dreadful insults and blasphemies uttered against thee, O Virgin Immaculate. O how these impious sayings offend the infinite Majesty of God and of His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ! How they provoke His indignation and give us cause to fear the terrible effects of His vengeance! Would that the sacrifice of our lives might avail to put an end to such outrages and blasphemies; were it so, how gladly we should make it, for we desire, O most Holy Mother, to love thee and to honor thee with all our hearts, since this is the Will of God. And just because we love thee, we will do all that is in our power to make thee honored and loved by all men. In the meantime do thou, our merciful Mother, the supreme comforter of the afflicted, accept this our act of reparation which we offer thee for ourselves and for all our families, as well as for all who impiously blaspheme thee, not knowing what they say. Do thou obtain for them from Almighty God the grace of conversion, and thus render more manifest and more glorious thy kindness, thy power and thy great mercy. May they join with us in proclaiming thee Blessed among women, the Immaculate Virgin and most compassionate Mother of God.
Hail Mary three times.

This isn’t specifically about Mary though, this kind of event has happened before on other days. I think it is appropriate for the Archbishop to involve other Christians as they pray to the same God and oppose Satan as much as we do. I don’t think God will not heed their prayers because they’re not Catholic, nor do I think it’s offensive for them to pray together just because the Satanists chose a Marian feast day. Even if Protestants do not venerate Mary as we do, they certainly find Satanist disrespect for the mother of God to be disgusting.

I think this situation is very similar to Luke 9:49-50: “Then John said in reply, ‘Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow in our company.’ Jesus said to him, 'Do not prevent him, for whoever is not against you is for you.”
