blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is nothing other than final impenitance:
when someone commits an actual mortal sin and refuses to repent through the last moment of life.

So if you are still alive you have not (yet) committed that sin.

I’ve always wondered what this sin is and I’ve heard many theories about it. Some sources even say that it was well understood in Jesus time but has since been lost.

So did a quick search. See “Sins against the Holy Ghost”, the last section at the New Advent page:

newadvent.org/cathen/07409a.htm

Fortunately, you really have to go out of your way to commit that sin, I think.

The Church teaching:

CCC 1864 “Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.” There are no limits to the mercy of God, but anyone who deliberately refuses to accept his mercy by repenting, rejects the forgiveness of his sins and the salvation offered by the Holy Spirit. Such hardness of heart can lead to final impenitence and eternal loss.
