Bless me father for I have sinned. What if I am confessing to a Friar? Do I say Bless me brother?

Well you can only go to confession to a priest. A friar can be a priest. You can seek advice from a brother friar and even tell him about the sins you struggle with but he can’t give you absolution so no point in saying " bless me brother". You would just talk to him normally

As far as I know, if he is hearing confession he is “Father”. You have to be a priest.

I see. I was confused as there are a lot of Friars who do confession at our parish and didn’t know if all were priests. Now I know only priests can participate in reconciliation

The Capuchin Franciscan Order, for example, calls both priest s and brothers ‘friars’, it is a matter of humility and inclusiveness.
Nevertheless they are still in fact, Priest or Brother.
The friar in the Confessional will only be a priest.
God bless you
