Very nic, JB. Thanks for sharing that, I have not read this before.
 
I also have (inherited from my grandparents who owned my home before) a small silver icon of Theotokos with infant Jesus. I read that certain saints can be dedicated for protecting the house but not all. Virgin Mary is one of them.
