I’ve seen that one come up sometimes in the Liturgy of the Hours bur never thought about it much before. The only thing that occurred to me was how repetitive it was. But your post puts it in a new light for me. Thank you! 🙂
 
I found it. It’s Sunday Week I, also used on certain other days. No wonder it’s familiar! 🙂
 
The Benedicite omnia opera and Benedictus es (to give their Latin names; Byzantines call them the 7 and 8th Biblical Odes) are basically a litany of praise.
 
Hananiah, Azariah, Mishael, sang praise to God in the fire in danger of the loss of their earthly lives and yet they had the inner peace and joy to sing and praise God.

Living the Prayer of our lives is the same, we sing and praise God in all times of our lives and offer all to God united to Jesus thanking Him.

I read the begining of Daniel again. This reconciliation is both here and there. I always end my confessions with, " His mercy endures forever". This is proper in the roman rite, correct? Tim

This is correct in “Handbook for Todays Catholics” by Liguori publications 1978. Page 44: After absolution, Father says “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.” You answer “His mercy endures forever.” Then the dismissal. Thats why I made the connection. But in reading Daniel, I see alot about the Body of Christ (the Church). This is what I found so far pertaining to that thought.

The first is the ancient view, which may be called traditional, and which maintains that the prophecy of the seventy weeks refers directly to the appearance of Christ in the flesh, His death, His establishment of the New Covenant, and the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans.
The second is that of most recent scholars, chiefly non-Catholic, who refer the whole passage directly to the time of Antiochus Epiphanes, with (Christians generally) or without (Rationalists at large) a typical reference to Christ.
The third is that of some Fathers of the Church and some recent theologians who understand the prophecy in an eschatological sense, as a prediction of the development of the Kingdom of God from the end of the Exile to the fulfilment of that kingdom at Christ’s second Advent.

It is true that a soul that has been forgiven much loves much and to love God is to thank and praise Him and trust in Him even when in peril.
 
So this second prayer of praise and thanksgiving follows Azariah’s first prayer of confession.3:26-45? I have alot come to me about this book last night. The “stone hewn from the mountain”, the “strong men binding”. Jesus spoke of these things. Tim
