This news was brought to my attention through America Needs Fatima. They’re running a petition to the socialist Spanish President Zapatero in opposition of this horrible ad.

What follows is my Spanish translation - granted, it’s with help from Google Translate (as with the article translation), but I think it looks okay.

Estoy absolutamente y completamente decepcionado y consternado que las Juventudes Socialistas de Andalucía, España, que son parte de su Partido Socialista, han puesto en marcha una campaña publicitaria que promueve condones con dos imágenes:

I am absolutely and completely disappointed and dismayed that the Socialist Youth of Andalusia, Spain, who are part of your Socialist Party, have launched an ad campaign that promotes condoms with two pictures:

• of a priest holding up the Holy Eucharist with the words “Take action” and another picture, just below the first,
• of a priest holding up a condom and the words “Use it”

And then: “Blessed are condoms that take away the AIDS of the world.”

When in 2,000 years has Our Lord Jesus Christ been subject to such a public and impure insult in the Holy Eucharist? I reject this horrendous blasphemy with all my heart and soul.

I urge you to have these ads removed from circulation immediately, and offer a sincere and meaningful apology to Our Lord Jesus Christ and to all Catholics.

No matter what you think about the use of condoms, this is incredibly offensive to Catholics. Once can only imagine the uproar if the campaign offended Muslims in a similar way.

Great evidence for why bold-faced lying should be illegal.

Take my local public high school, for example, that freely distributed condoms (in a gigantic wooden box on castors) to students : these condoms gained such infamy that students joked the school was actually trying to get people pregnant (owing to their persistent failure).

Condoms do not prevent disease (healthy lifestyles, however, do), they in fact cause it, especially when people are being bold-face lied to by people who are not competent enough to make such presumptive judgements. Condoms, being faulty, fail, and therefore do cause, and not prevent, the spread of diseases.

It is very sad to see the world turning to total darkness. I expect nothing less from the world, for 400 years now, the CC is loosing influence in the world. There was a time in which countries lived by the Church’s teachings and they all knew who God is and they knew but One Church. I agree. They can and do cause infection and disease. People trust that the condom will protect them if their partner is infected or maybe they know their partner is infected but use a condom with full trust in the condom. Well, that condom isn’t as trustworthy as it may seem. In many instances, they will fail and then there is a huge chance of infection for either partner if either of them is carrying a disease either knowingly or unknowingly.
