Did I goof? I read about blessed salt and blessed oil, so took salt & olive oil to be blessed but after reading more, I’m a little confused… Was the oil supposed to be from a shrine and as in from candles? Forgive me if I sound goofy.

Thank you

Ok, and the blessed salt sprinkle in basically I assume any opening in the house (windows, doorways etc) and blessed oil I can use in lieu of holy water if I want it to stay more permanent?

Thank you

Always praying the Our Father as you sprinkle the salt or use the oil. Make sure, if possible, you bless the outside of your windows and doors. Also, with the salt, use it around the boundries of your home, your yard. A lot of folks will place blessed metals of St. Benedict or St. Michael, or a favorite saint in the cornors of their yards.

A friend of mine in Canada, takes a 50# bag of salt in once a year for blessing and then uses it all over her neighborhood. I have read too, where people are sprinking blessed salt all over towns, taking them back for Jesus. Interesting concepts.

Maybe I should make a point of visiting my wiccan friend & her non-wiccan family and do the same to their house I wonder?

Guessing you’re Polish maybe? Pani? 🙂 If I remember, Pani for Mrs., Panna for Miss, I could be rusty on my Polish, it’s been a while!

Know a titch of Polish and a titch of German, probably more Polish than the other.

I don’t have St. Michael but do have St. Benedict, the medal is on my scapular.
