My adult DD made me aware of this website. She has a non-Catholic friend who thinks “it’s cool” she can buy a rosary blessed by the Pope.
I was suspicious when she first told me about this and asked her to get some more information. She sent me the link to a website that is selling rosaries which the seller says are blessed by the Pope. I thought it was unacceptable for blessed objects to be sent through the mail. Am I correct in this thinking? I make rosaries and I have never had them blessed before giving them to the individual or before mailing them if I’ve sold them out of my area. First off, I felt it was the individuals decision to have the rosary blessed, not mine, and I had been told this is something the church does not condone.
Please help so I can help my daughter with this friend of hers who doesn’t seem to be taking the Catholic faith very seriously. This lady is married to a Catholic, and is purchasing this rosary for her husband. She is also wanting me to make her some “prayer beads”. I am VERY uncomfortable about this because there is so much new age junk out there and so many aren’t taking prayer seriously. You know, “the Oprah effect”.
HERE is the website. Any (name removed by moderator)ut or thoughts are greatly appreciated.
