Can Blessed Sacrament be exposed during the celebration of Mass ? In that case should I leave the BS to attend Mass and leave Him alone?

At our Church we have a perpetual adoration chapel at the rear of the Church so the Blessed Sacrament is exposed 24 hours a day and should not be left alone. People are assigned 2 hour slots to ensure it is not left alone.
You don’t say if you being there was an assigned time slot in order to not leave the Blessed Sacrament alone or if you simply went for adoration and found the chapel empty?
 
You cannot leave the Blessed Sacrament unattended. Talk to the person in charge of coordinating perpetual adoration and ask what the proper protocol is for you if you find yourself in that situation of needing to leave when no one else is there. Believe me, it’s something that any Church that does perpetual adoration has planned for.
 
As I understand it, the Blessed Sacrament must not be exposed when Mass is in progress, if the place of exposition is the actual church where Mass is being said…

If the Exposition is a separate chapel, this doesn’t apply, as Mass taking place in a church nearby is the same as Mass a hundred miles away.

I did not know that, and had never noticed. However very true; i have never found the Blessed Sacrament alone. This gives me the more reason to to stay at CAF. I know i have a lot to learn.

It cannot be left alone. If you are assigned as Guardian, you should stay at your post (sorry, Marine here). However, it is certain that there will be other Masses unless we’re talking about on a weekday. At my parish, we repose the Sacrament at the 9:00 AM mass on Saturday, then hold Benediction and Expostion at the conclusion of the 5:00 PM Mass on Sunday. The monstrance remains on the altar in our adoration chapel until the cycle repeats the next Saturday morning.

Yes, it’s right in [Redemptionis Sacramentum](http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/c...0423_redemptionis-sacramentum_en.html#Chapter VI):

[138.] Still, the Most Holy Sacrament, when exposed, must never be left unattended even for the briefest space of time. It should therefore be arranged that at least some of the faithful always be present at fixed times, even if they take alternating turns.

From a purely practical point of view, leaving the Eucharist unattended leaves open the possibility that someone would come along and profane the Eucharist.

We all have a lot to learn. 🙂 The fundamentals of our faith are simple, but the well runs deep.
