My priest blessed the crucifix I wear around my neck today in Latin, I like to go home and read what he said in English however I haven’t found a single blessing in Latin which sounded similar, I remember he used a green book and in the blessing said “quis, quis” (sorry!) It was quite short however I’d just like to find a traditional blessing to read roughly what was prayed for if anyone could help me out that’d be great 👍

Do you think he did it wrong?
He blessed it! Rejoice!
That’s’ the thing about Latin…scholars and those remember and love the Latin Mass
can readily translate it, but some of us really can’t.
Be at peace. It’s fine.

Hi camkutz -

I like to look things up, too. But since you can’t remember enough of the Latin words the priest used, you’ll just have to ask him.

You did not hear him say this?

In nómine Patris et Fílii et Spíritus Sancti. Amen.

Maybe it was the blessing of the cross:

Caelestis Pater, pro
nobis propter Filium tuum misisti nos diligitis
et volo . Adiuva
Per virtutem suam,
nos a peccato
cotidie enim et vivamus .

Quaesumus signum gloriae
et locavit eam nos admonent
quod Iesus mortuus est et resurrexit pro omnibus.
Adjuva nos illi crucem portare cotidie
aliis servire et sequere eam .

Hoc petimus gratia
per Christum Dominum nostrum .

Amen.
