Blessing Place of Business

We have a business that I feel really needs blessing.

It’s over an hour’s drive from our home. And I was wondering, should I ask my Priest (which I don’t really know well, just from RCIA classes) or do I call the local Catholic Church near the location of my business?

And whichever that I do…do I, um…pay the Priest? You know, give him a card with some money?

We had our business blessed, twice, once when we first opened and once when we moved to a new location!! Also one of our business neighbors who has been in business for a long time, and is Catholic had her business blessed after she found out we had ours.
Anyway, I would probably ask a priest closer to your business. They do tend to be VERY busy! We gave Father a card with $25.00 in it.
I will warn you that you may get a pause when you call to ask. Our priest did, he then told me he had never been asked to bless a business. He also paused when we asked him to bless our new vehicle.

DH suggested that we have a Priest bless every new piece of equipment that we sell. He said, “I’ll just figure in the donation to the Priest with the price”…hey TAX DEDUCTION! under professional fees…what do you think?

So, tell me…where you having problems at your place of business, or was it a just because…we are having problems. Lots of them. Since day one. Been there a year. It’s our second location, so it’s not like this is a new ball game for us. But my second time in the business, before we purchased, with all the employees there, I felt evil around me. I was able to p(name removed by moderator)oint the person and he was not hired by us when we took over. Now, I feel like some of that evil is still lingering. No matter how much I pray and try to not let it bother me. Just too much is going on up there…and we need the place blessed. It’s so bad, that I am even thinking about getting out the Holy Water this weekend, just to get by

I can understand how you feel!!!
We just got it blessed because we always had our homes and vehicles blessed, so why not the business?
We were not having problems, although before we moved in there was a “Contemporary” gift shop. They were selling velvet Jesus’ and bobble head Jesus’ among a lot of other tacky things IMHO!
We are also a gift shop, so as soon as we moved in I hung all of my crosses on the wall where she had the things I didn’t appreciate
I did feel more at peace after the priest blessed our location. My neighbor said the same.
I would also suggest hanging a Cross on your east wall, in your office or somewhere. That is always my temp fix till the priest arrives
