Thanks nancy for your warm welcome here
I remember the sign of peace right away after the lords prayer
a true catholic

I also want to let all on this thread know that blessings flow in faith
and the end of psalm 27 says it all to
wait I say, wait on the lord
For yrs I acted in a position no salary to its post
and just last week I got the promotion to the post
What i can say here is it came when I never ever expexcted it and I know its the work of the lord too
The story is a long one but I remained in jesus always
so blessings all till
Wonderful!!! Yes wait on the Lord. God makes all things beautiful in HIS time.

In an earlier post I mentioned that I had started to celebrate my baptismal day instead of my birthday and that I had dug up my baptismal certificate to be able to do that.

I also said I cried when I read it.

I thought I’d post it here because the words are just so soul moving (for me anyway :))

It goes :

Through the Mercy and Love of God, the Holy Sacrament of Baptism has been conferred upon - Little Miss Benedictus2 (as narrow_path calls me :)) on April 29, 1961 through which she was born a child of God and placed under the protective care of Holy Mother, The Roman Catholic Church for the attainment of her noble destiny to be an heir of Heaven. She was born into the world as the daughter of (my dad’s name here) and (my mom’s name here) on (my birthday here) at (our old address:)).

The Lord bless her and grant that she be conscious of her Christian vocation throughout the time of her earthly pilgrimage.

Another thing I am grateful for today is the the little dog that sometimes chases me as I walk to the station. She only chases and barks at me when she is in her owners’s front yard (especially when her owner is on the yard as well:)).

Some days though her owner lets her out. In these cases she runs away from me rather than after me.

She is only brave when she is fenced in. I think I am like that too. Only brave when I am aware of being held in God’s hands.

Some wise words I heard today:

The Seeds of Depression cannot take root in a Grateful Heart.

On Friday night in the city of Cape Town, South Africa my son, his wife and his two younger sons and a friend of one of the sons were attacked in their home at gun point, bound and robbed.

My daughter in law arrived with the three boys and as she drove into the property three coloured men dressed in black (in was 8.15pm) wielding guns made them all go inside the house. Annie prayed “May the blood of Christ be upon us” and one of the robbers said “Don’t say that” Annie said “My husband will be arriving shortly”

When my son arrived he was surprised to find the gate upon and then Annie’s keys still in in the front door and as he entered the first thing he saw was a robber with a gun pointed to the head of little Jonathan (turned 9 in April). My son just submitted saying “You shouldn’t do this” and the one robber responded “We have to put food on the table”.

They took and iphone, my son’s mobile and one of the boy’s laptop (my son had left his in the car together with his wallet). The robbers left as soon as they had taken what they wanted and left the cars in the garage.

We have been saying prayers of gratitude and thanksgiving. There are so many things which could have happened and didn’t - they got off lightly. My husband and I say the rosary every day and always pray for our children and that they may be delivered from evil. I know the Lord was listening…

Please pray for us
Cinette:)

Oh Cinnette, I am so sorry to hear that but also so relieved. Praised be to God. His tender mercies abound.

It is troubling because in this times of economic strife, more such robberies borne of poverties will happen.

Our Father who sees all our plights, look with tenderness and mercy upon Cinette’s family and those mired in poverty that they turn to crime to live.

May we always see Christ in the other that love may abound.

Mother Mary, thank you for listening to the pleas of a mother.

I’m praying prayers of gratitude for your family’s safety too! Goodness . . . That would have been terrifying; I’m so glad they didn’t hurt anyone.

HI Cinnette, gee that explains why I haven’t seen you or herd from you in 3 day’s I am so sorry that had to happen, but I am glad no one was hurt. People are so selfish, and cruel and we are told to be on our guard, because satan goes around like a rawling lion seeking whom ever he can devour. They realy didn’t get away with anything the eye of God is alway’s watching, it is writen in his book’s. May God alway’s be watchful and lead, guide, and direct our path’s alway’s. God Bless You Cinette and your family AMEN! Nancy:)

There was a conformation and first communion today and it was the first time I took from the cup! It was strong, to strong. But i did it:D Now I know why alot of people don’t;) Love of Christ Nancy

The Peace and Joy of the Risen Christ to all who visit this thread!

Protestant101 started a thread called “Sharing Our Blessings” which I thought was a wonderful thread. Unfortunately this was deleted.

Craig Kennedy also started a thread called “To Live by Faith’ which ended up becoming more apologetic in nature.

This thread is a cross of the above two; more like what it means to live by faith in this time of crisis (economic, spiritual, etc).

In this time of growing concern over our world (economy, flu, global warming, etc) we could tend to forget that God is good, loves us all unconditionally and is in control.

So I am starting this thread to get us all thinking of the many blessings (great and small) that in the hurried pace of the day and the troubles and the worries we could overlook. Grace is being poured abundantly and when we put the magnifying glass to it, then maybe we will realize that there is much to be thankful for and so water the seeds of gratitude in our souls.

There are no rules (except please be nice, sheath the sword of apologetic combat and leave the verbal fencing for other threads. The thread could meander every which way and it does not matter. This is about our lives as children of God in its ups and downs, deaths and resurrections.

Let us rejoice in our and others blessings and suffer with those who will post their pain. Let us tell our stories of the day and know that Christ’s walks with us as He did with the disciples on the road to Emmaus.
We are blessed by having you here Cory, and we are blessed that God is always faithful. We may stray from time to time, but his love endures.

I thank Almight God for the gift of friends and today especially for the gift of the people who come to CAF - even those who might not share our faith but, through their interaction with us bring us closer to God and to the realisation that we are indeed Blessed.

Cinette:)
