I do not like to brag about the many miracles God has performed in my life as though I’m favored over those who do not receive such miracles. However, it is impossible for me not to talk about them because the impact they have had on my faith. ALL the glory and praise goes to God, they are His mighty works.

Those who have received miracles know the difference between coincidence and the power of God to make the impossible possible. Some may think you are fit for a straight jacket, but you know they are as real as your existence.

I would love to hear about some of your miracles in any form, physical, mental, healings, dreams, or visions, just anything that only God could have done. I find them all remarkable and inspiring.

I guess since I started this thread I will go first.

The rock and a hard place.

In early 90’s I was in bad place in life, dejected by divorces, child custody battle, alcohol abuse, poverty, my van was my home. Life was real hard as I was in the valley of despair.

I went for a walk in the middle of nowhere along a dirt road by the river just to be alone, I actually contemplated given up, things were that bad. I had no faith, wasn’t even sure there was a God, and if there was, where was He?

So as I walked that old dirt road thinking and kicking stones, I had an angry thought, “Ok God, if you exist let me strike that tin can with this rock!” That tin can was way off in the distance, much further than I could normally throw. The impossible!

With all my anger and frustrations I hauled off and just threw the rock with all my might, yelling as I let it go. It went whizzing through the air. Then guess what! BOOM!!! It hits the can right snack in the middle! The can bounced and rattled, I fell to my knees apologizing to God for my disbelief and for testing Him.

That moment kept me alive, and I made it through some hard times because of it. Although it did not bring me back into the Church it did at least give me reason to believe in the existence of God. The seed was planted.

In hindsight I wish I had saved that can as a souvenir, a reminder that when life is hard, there is only one Rock to turn to.
 
I read we are not supposed to discuss unsubstantiated by the Vatican, miracles, visions and dreams, on CAF.
 
I firmly believe if God does something remarkable for us that we should share it with others, and God performing signs and miracles is in God’s very nature, from the first page of Scripture to the very last page, God is doing them one right after another. They certainly are a huge part of my life and have increased my faith incredibly. To be honest I would be in a state of despair without them.

I really hope this thread survives. It is interesting and gives so much glory to God. I mean, isn’t given testimony supposed to be what we do as Christians?

I know one thing, I’m 1000% Catholic, and not Catholic in name only, I do not need to have any of the miracles in my life substantiated by the Vatican to know they are true. An extraordinary act of love by God does not require a test, they are love stories, not some type of cult following. So I hope and pray we can share God’s love for us.

Beautiful…just change your title( just a suggestion) copy your post because it is a great witness…you are not going against any rules with what you wrote. Not in my opinion…I can understand the concern about visions that is a wise rule. The church has prudent rules regarding private revelation.
 
Uh oh, I’m not sure how to change the title. Maybe someone at CA will chime in and tell me how.

It seems strange to me how people are so quiet when it comes to miracles and visions.

It is a rule here. I was going to share an as yet unapproved miracle. I cannot yet, CAF rules state we cannot. We must be patient and wait for the Vatican to do their investigation into these matters. As far as this forum is concerned.
  1. Do not post material from unapproved private revelations.

I consider it a miracle to not be condemned. I also see it as a miracle the fact that I am still on earth despite my many shortcomings God has continuously granted me time to repent, repair any evil I have done and work toward doing good.

My devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary is also a grace for which I am thankful God allowed me to have.
 
Yes MasterHaster, it was a miracle to me, may be small in nature, but was big for me at the time. I did not even really aim for the can, which was in my guestimation a good 60 to 70 yards away. I was angry and frustrated and just hauled off and threw it in the general direction with all my might. It was a one throw, one shot deal. Could it have been coincidence, sure, very slim chance. I would love to watch some NFL quarterbacks try and nail a Coke can that far off with a rock on their first try without really aiming. It’s hard enough to hit one at 20 feet with an oval river rock that is half flat and curves when thrown.

Thank you for filling me in GiftofMercy. Is sharing miracles considered private revelation if I’m not trying to push a message that may be from God unto others? I’m certainly not trying to say anything to try and persuade others, just sharing how awesome God has been in my life, and love to hear from others what He has done for them.
 
However, I believe God is still very active in performing physical miracles and other supernatural unexplained events.

You should read the book “The Case for Miracles” by Lee Strobel. I have not read it but he did a very through investigation to determine if supernatural unexplained miracles are happening today. I guess many people wrongly believe God only did miracles in Jesus’s time and before, but not anymore. However I do not believe that is the case.

I will definitely get that book, would be fun to compare notes, I bet it is very interesting. I’m not sure how anyone could ever believe God stopped doing miracles after the time of Jesus, nothing is extraordinary for God, there would be no reason to stop. If we really think about it, there is no line for God between the natural and supernatural. It would just seem really strange if God did not defy what we think is normal. I just feel God does and will defy our small intellect to accomplish His will.
