Well we have an indication of what can happen when the liberals gain control. The promotion of abortion, the re-definition of marriage…basically an attack on the life teachings of Jesus…the five Catholic non negotiables. Then recently we saw the liberals attack a Catholic organization as extremist for proclaiming the Truths of Jesus Christ and His Church so yes it’s not inconceivable that a liberal government could head in that direction. It would be a process of first being put in prison for proclaiming the teachings of Jesus charged with the crime of hate speech.

What is sad is that supposed catholics who adhere to the liberal political ideology would be a party to it.

Not before we have one humdinger of a good fight
Yes indeed although seeing some of the comments in another thread it seems a segment of Catholics would rather switch than fight. (pop culture quiz)

On the other side of that we now have a Pro Life President and a defender of religious liberty and look how the liberals are in a frenzy trying to impeach him.

Revolution is the fourth right if life, liberty and private property are lost.

They well know this could be a turning point away from communism.

We have a nominally anti-abortion President (who keeps signing bills refunding Planned Parenthood), at best. He’s hardly pro-life in any wider sense, and he’s pro- a lot of terrible things in exchange.

Perhaps the answer to this problem is that the U.S government shouldn’t be able to murder ANY of its citizens.

Christians are the most persecuted group in the world right now, yet we never hear about it. Why is there such a concerted effort to keep Americans in the dark? Just the very fact that the powers that be who control the media suppress this fact while they jump on the bandwagon to crucify the Church and/or Christians at every opportunity should be enough to make us question the possibility of it happening here.

Eventually, I think, like in China, there will be a state-sanctioned Catholic Church and anyone who is content with a watered down, redefined or dare I say, counterfeit Catholicism as Fulton Sheen spoke of, will be just fine, as for those who rebel…
"Because his religion will be brotherhood of Man without the fatherhood of God, he will deceive even the elect. He will set up a counter church which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. . . .–Fulton Sheen
… It’s just a matter of time…perhaps, in our lifetimes, perhaps not, but I do believe it will happen

After I posted yesterday, I was listening to the NPR’s All Things Considered and for the first time that I’ve ever heard, they actually reported on Christian persecution.
“Critics of the U.S. withdrawal say it could mean Turkey will be tempted to send troops and allied Syrian Arab forces into northern Syria, where they could attack ethnic and religious minority groups, including Yazidis, Kurds, and Syriac Christians, an ancient Christian community that still speaks Aramaic, the language of Jesus.”
Is This the End of Christianity in the Middle East? ISIS and other extremist movements across the region are enslaving, killing and uprooting Christians, with no aid in sight.
“But as the U.S. prepares to draw down,” she said, “Syrian Christians fear they’ll be wiped out. It appears U.S. policy has the potential to put 2000 years of Christian tradition and history at risk.”
Why isn’t the Catholic Church doing more to address this issue?

Why isn’t the Catholic Church doing more to address this issue?
Such as?
They don’t have a standing army, and unless a nation is majority Catholic, Catholic news tends not to be reported (unless if it’s something salacious, like a scandal).
A lot of Catholics do know about it, but don’t know what to do about it, and they’re not in positions of power and influence and I suspect the only reason NPR even mentioned it is because their hatred of Trump outweighs their indifference for suffering Christians.
