Blogs on shows not broadcast in the country

Hi, this is probably an unusual question.
Would it be a mortal sin to read blogs about shows that are not available in the U.S.? I was wondering about this because I realized that chances are, the people writing about the episodes probably downloaded them illegally (though this is not always the case).

It would be ok to read something someone blogged about a TV show. You do not have to assume they are getting the info by watching illegally–if they are in the country of the show, then quite possibly they are watching for free or on cable, no?

How would you know that?
With my work schedule I usually can’t watch regular shows but often networks will show current episodes for a limited time on their websites, maybe that’s how they are watching. Maybe they get the shows by satellite.
I would not jump to the conclusion that others are doing something illegal.

Everyone has brought up valid points, and I agree that I shouldn’t jump to conclusions. However, suppose IF the blogger was in fact downloading episodes illegally, would it be sinful to read his or her blog?

Okay, you could ask him/her in a friendly way, just “Hey, I didn’t know ---- is available where you are.”

If they are watching or downloading illegally you aren’t helping them do it. Reading their opinion about it after the fact is not “direct cooperation” with evil.

Just so I understand, is this a US blog discussing shows from other countries or a foreign blog? Other countries do have different laws so a crime here might be cool where the blogger is.
