How is the state of the world any worse than it has been in the last 100 years?
I believe he is primarily talking about the Middle East. I would recommend watching Johnathan Kahn’s ‘Isaiah 9:10’ video (you can watch it on youtube, Part 1, Part 2), as this is the ‘Blood Moon’ stuff that they are talking about and not the loony protestant variants, much of what he has linked makes a lot of sense and is quite ominous and everything America has done in the Middle East to date has backfired massively and I don’t see any ‘progress’ being made in a positive direction over there accept for maybe Russia’s current involvement (which only time will tell and I don’t believe this is in America’s favor).

However, like I said in my OP, regarding their ‘rapture’ theories and ‘end of the world’ stuff, I believe they are quite off base, however, it does get a little annoying when people quote these fringe protestant groups with looney prophecies that are backing of work from Johnathan Kahn and then using their loony predictions to dismiss all other references to the recent blood moons (not sayin’ I believe it).

Anyway, only time will tell whether Johnathan Kahn has got it right or not, it doesn’t bother me too much either way as I trust in Jesus above all and what will be will be, and I certainly wouldn’t listen to any predictions of ‘the end of the world and Christ’s second coming’ from him or any other group trying to predict it or give a date.

What is for certain is that this world will come to an end for all of us, that is not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’ even the sciences make this emphatically clear.

I hope this has helped

And interestingly, it was announced that Russia would begin airstrikes in Syria alongside the US the very next day after the Full Blood Moon in America. (not sayin’ I believe it, but nevertheless, still ominous and I guess only time will tell). 🤷

And these two images after the Isaiah 9:10 videos from Johnathan Kahn on the new One World Trade Centre were a little ominous too.

Very true, I dont think many people realize how many politicians have used that particular statement in reference to Isaiah. Ive watched video clips of about 3 quoting this exact verse (out of all the ones they had to choose from as well?).

They probably did not recognize what they were even doing though.

Still find it unbelievable that they quoted such a verse in the Bible, (not a one off either) wouldn’t have paid much attention at all to Johnathan Kahn’s work otherwise.

And ominously the very next verse Isaiah 9:11

11
So the Lord raised adversaries against them,
and stirred up their enemies,

And hopefully one that will not come to pass Isaiah 9:12

12
the Arameans on the east and the Philistines on the west,
and they devoured Israel with open mouth.

Unless there is some (I would take any) improvement in the Middle East, US and Russian relations, I can only see the inevitable of Isaiah 9:12 eventually coming to fruition in one way or another, furthermore (from what I have heard or read), I think Russia has the only strategy that has at least a chance of working in Syria and if the US (or NATO) don’t interfere, I can at least see a chance for the region settling down and improvements being made.

Thanks for the links.

The Rabbi Cahn makes a compelling case. He definitely answers the question of what sort of message / best practice would need to be spread to prevent the SHTF in the USA.

The first and vital step is returning to God in repentance. Otherwise, Cahn points out that anything else we try will just blow up in our faces and cause the exact outcome we are trying to avoid.

If he is right, then these are the two most important videos ever made.

No worries.

To be honest though, regardless of Johnathan Cahn and what he has said, I think the falling of a nation is inevitable when it turns away from Christ. “The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.” Psalm 118:22

For example, why would I fight or stand for any country or nation, that if it won, would see the advance in abortion, sexual depravity and the persecution of Christianity? How could anyone stand behind a nation that implements laws based on their whims or fancies and are as shifting as sand in the wind? As Abraham Lincoln said,* “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”* Matthew 12:25, Luke 11:17 & Mark 3:24

However, in saying all of this I am still very hopeful for America, I was surprised by the address Obama gave Pope Francis and many other little things, so I believe there is hope and I wont give up pleading for mercy and for America to once again become the great nation she used to be (and even greater) by putting the cornerstone back.

Relativism will kill any society, you can’t get a group to rally behind relativism, the very fact that what they are trying to rally behind is relative means the society is divided against itself and therefore cannot stand. The other danger is if they go the wrong way in combating it, like Nazism and Communism did, they were united, but for an unjust cause. Hence the necessity for the Cornerstone of our western nations which has been and is under attack in many areas from many angles, from without and from within.

“No culture in history has ever embraced moral relativism and survived. Our own culture, therefore, will either (1) be the first, and disprove history’s clearest lesson, or (2) persist in its relativism and die, or (3) repent of its relativism and live. There is no other option.”

I am not sure what you mean by “moral relativism”.

I thought the point of Cahn’s video is that each of us needs to reconnect with God, and repentance is an important part of that connection.

Personally, I believe that it is critical that no one, of any “moral state”, should feel that he / she is morally insufficient to seek God. I don’t understand the term “moral relativism”, and I hope it does not imply that a particular political ideology such as being “conservative” vs “liberal” is morally superior.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Cahn’s videos is about how badly political leaders in the U.S. interpreted the scriptures, especially Isaiah 9:10. If these guys got it wrong, then any of us can, and most likely do, get it wrong as well. That is why it is so important to avoid the sin of pride, and fall into the trap of thinking any of us has “all the answers”, or that our particular political ideology is “morally correct”. God’s Will is what is morally correct, and only in returning to Him can we avoid error and see what each of us needs to work on.

Relativism -
The doctrine that knowledge, truth, and morality exist in relation to culture, society, or historical context, and are not absolute.

Subjectivism -
the doctrine that knowledge is merely subjective and that there is no external or objective truth.

Relativism and Subjectivism I believe go hand in hand.

The Poison of Subjectivism by C.S. Lewis (13min video) - youtube.com/watch?v=Lgcd6jvsCFs

The killer for the west I believe is their trying to reconcile the worship of God with the worship of Satan. All religion is not the same nor are they equivalent to one another as the secularists wish to try and paint them in an effort to dismiss them all in one swing, some are more morally superior and others more morally inferior. Their foolish notions would see Barbaric Paganism and Satanism triumphed and regarded as morally equivalent to Christianity. And if anyone challenges such an understanding, they are extremists or are advocating a theocracy or dictatorship etc.
Pope Benedict XVI vs. the Dictatorship of Relativism by Benjamin Wiker:
ncregister.com/blog/benja…of-relativism/

In his homily to the 2005 conclave that would soon choose him as the successor of Pope John Paul II, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger warned those attending, “We are moving toward a dictatorship of relativism which does not recognize anything as for certain and which has as its highest goal one’s own ego and one’s own desires.”

This is a warning that Pope Benedict has not tired of repeating during his pontificate.

Relativism is a poison. It attacks our most human capacity, the capacity to seek and know the truth, including the moral truth. A dictatorship of relativism imposes by real cultural force (and even by political force) a no-standard standard, a command that all must imbibe this poison.

At first blush, it would seem contradictory to have relativism united to dictatorship. Isn’t relativism just a healthy dose of humility, a way to cool the intellectual or religious hot-head who insists, “I, only I, have the truth”?

The proof of the pudding of relativism is in the eating. How has it fared?

“In recent years I find myself noting,” Cardinal Ratzinger said in his Without Roots, “how the more relativism becomes the generally accepted way of thinking, the more it tends toward intolerance. Political correctness … seeks to establish the domain of a single way of thinking and speaking. Its relativism creates the illusion that it has reached greater heights than the loftiest philosophical achievements of the past. It presents itself as the only way to think and speak — if, that is, one wishes to stay in fashion. … I think it is vital that we oppose this imposition of a new pseudo-enlightenment, which threatens freedom of thought as well as freedom of religion.”

That last point is key. While appearing to be the very essence of neutrality and equity — “all views are equal and equally valid” — it actually undermines both the freedom of thought and the freedom of religion. As to the latter, it does so (ironically) as a new religion itself, “a new ‘denomination’ that places restrictions on religious convictions and seeks to subordinate all religions to the super-dogma of relativism.”

As Cardinal Ratzinger noted in his Truth and Tolerance, “relativism … in certain respects has become the real religion of modern man.” It has become, especially in Europe, but now increasingly in America, the religion that stands at the heart of modern secular civilization in the way that Christianity defined the heart of Christendom.

It is the religion, Pope Benedict insists, which the Church must combat in the third millennium for the sake of civilization itself. A civilization built upon dogmatic relativism is one that ensures its own destruction. It is also a civilization in which Christianity — challenging dogmatic relativism with the proclamation that Jesus Christ himself is the Way, the Truth and the Life — must be persecuted.
“Love without truth is blind and truth without love is empty.” - Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger

“The Church is intolerant in principle because she believes; she is tolerant in practice because she loves. The enemies of the Church are tolerant in principle because they do not believe; they are intolerant in practice because they do not love.”
  • Rev. Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange O.P
“America, it is said, is suffering from intolerance — it is not. It is suffering from tolerance. Tolerance of right and wrong, truth and error, virtue and evil, Christ and chaos. Our country is not nearly so overrun with the bigoted as it is overrun with the broadminded.”

o.k. I like the Ratzinger quote. However, there seems to be some problems that I do not claim to have an answer to including:
  1. Many people who are religious associate “morality” or avoiding relativism, with a political ideology, whether conservative or liberal, as if God supported a particular political party.
  2. The desire for “honor”, or to be right, seems to be especially dangerous and can effect anyone including Cahn who apparently over reached in his last book when he falls into the trap of trying to fix dates to events:
shoebat.com/2015/09/12/bombshell-jonathan-cahn-admits-his-books-and-his-the-jewish-calendar-forces-messianic-believers-to-deny-jesus-was-the-messiah/

So his initial message of a “call to repentance” that is good for anyone to remember when seeking God gets polluted with a desire to stay in the lime light.

It seems to me that the overwhelming problem is the “falling away” from religion, and people not seeking God at all, not whether or not people are seeking God in the best religion. My wife is Protestant and that religion is best for her, while Catholicism is best for me. Didn’t Mother Teresa advise each of us to be better at our own religion and to focus on loving God and others:

ewtn.com/motherteresa/words.htm

She did not say to for each of us to change to the best religion and fight with each other every step of the way, ignoring love of God, and love of others while we fight.

One contributor to the falling away seems to the failure of religious to follow M. Teresa’s example reflecting God’s love in ministry to others, and this contributes to the falling away from religion completely. This feeds a secular ideology of if it feels good, do it, creating a vicious cycle.

Although I don’t have the answer, it seems that there is a common denominator to our current state of being that keeps people occupied with themselves, in their mind. That occupation is generally with the lure of the secular world and can be anti-relgion, or it can use religion as an excuse to seek the fruit of the secular world (honor, power, $, pleasure).

Interestingly, in the sermon at mass today the priest mentioned that there is nothing wrong with honor or power, so long as we do not seek it for our own personal aggrandizement, as opposed to service.

However, it is not always easy to examine our own motivations.

This is why I am mainly concerned with finding ways to get people to “show up”. For sure, repentance is a key component to seeking God, as is service to the suffering.

That is because I believe that if we don’t “wake up”, we are going to blow each other to pieces based on political science, not any prophecy.

o.k. I like the Ratzinger quote.
Me too. 🙂

I didn’t know that. My vote depends on what one wishes to achieve, if they support abortion or something, than it wouldn’t matter what party they were from or what ideology they had, I wouldn’t vote for them.
  1. The desire for “honor”, or to be right, seems to be especially dangerous and can effect anyone including Cahn who apparently over reached in his last book when he falls into the trap of trying to fix dates to events:

Yes, that’s why I mentioned above not to pay attention to any dates from Johnathan Cahn or anyone else, I haven’t paid any attention to the whole Shemitah stuff he talks about, only the Isaiah 9:10 bit and the ominous similarities with the US atm, that’s the sum total of my involvement with what Johnathan Cahn has said.

btw, thank you for the link (haven’t finished reading it yet). 🙂
So his initial message of a “call to repentance” that is good for anyone to remember when seeking God gets polluted with a desire to stay in the lime light.
I agree.
It seems to me that the overwhelming problem is the “falling away” from religion, and people not seeking God at all, not whether or not people are seeking God in the best religion.
I disagree (I’ll expand on this with my last point), the problem I believe is falling away from Christian values, the foundation in which allowed the US and other nations to flourish as they did, and likewise, now that they are being eroded, it is going backwards as Johnathan Cahn I believe points out.
My wife is Protestant and that religion is best for her, while Catholicism is best for me.
Well, this here is a little of what I mean though, I don’t believe it’s about what someone thinks is best for him, her or that guy but rather about what’s true.

My neighbor might be a Pagan who thinks his religion is best for him and would like to sacrifice his daughter (who might even be consenting) to Odin next week. 🤷

But in any case, you wouldn’t say Protestantism and Catholicism are the same would you? they can be close but they are not the same, especially since many protestants are missing the real presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist and several sacraments such as confession etc.

But this isn’t as big of an issue as those who are now so ignorant of religion entirely as to compare them all as ‘the same’ or ‘similar’. Taking a classic example ‘Satanism’ this is the exact ‘opposite’ of ANY form of Christianity, yet it is seen to be included under ‘freedom of religion’ for some ludicrous reason. These are polar opposites, they cannot co-exist, our laws were founded on the Ten Commandments, adhered to by all of the Major Abrahamic faiths, Protestant and Catholic alike.
Didn’t Mother Teresa advise each of us to be better at our own religion and to focus on loving God and others:
Okay, just one quick question, How does a Satanist become better at his/her own religion? he/she doesn’t love God, nor others, but they fit the criteria of trying to be better at their own religion.

The only reason why your analogy and Mother Teresa advice works I believe is because you assume a monopoly of Christian values, but this is being eroded and now values that are even in direct opposition are being brought in and embraced.

I hope this has helped

I believe the falling away from Christian values is an effect of the falling away from seeking God. Everyone is going to follow someone. Some people follow “the crowd”, or the popular secular trend of the day. Some people try to stand up for something. For most of us, it is a process, and we go through phases. The Bible is full of stories of people from all walks of life, including champions of the secular world of the day, who God converted and used to do incredible things. That reminds me of a strange dream I had a couple weeks ago that I interpreted as “don’t count anyone out”. So I don’t know who God is going to use; however, I will not be surprised if it is the last person(s) you would expect.

The examples of satanism and paganism do not follow Mother Teresa’s admonition to love God and neighbor that are the foundation of Christianity and she practiced these foundations to an incredible degree.

However, when we start down the road of nitpicking over the superiority of other religions, especially other Christian religions, and in the process ignore the whole foundation of Christianity (love of God and neighbor) then we are committing serious error.

I would not be Catholic if I did not believe Catholicism is the best religion. The sacraments, history, and being able to attend Mass all over the world are incredible. However, I would be a fool to tell my wife that she should not be a Protestant since she puts more time into her religion than I do. So maybe if I build a few Children’s Hospitals and minister to a level that might go above and beyond the love of God and neighbor that others are doing, I could give that sort of advice. However, until I do that, saying that other people should seek God as I do is maybe a little hypocritical. I also believe that should I ever approach a level of service such as Mother Teresa, then I would also gain a perspective that she had, that is far superior to any perspective that I could currently imagine. Thus, by her actions, Mother Teresa has proven that her perspective and wisdom is far superior to mine, and I would not dream of disagreeing with her.

True.

I agree, but these are the examples of societies current admonitions which do not recognize the moral superiority of Christian values which include such things as, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods, Love thy neighbor as thyself, you know that the pagans like to make their power felt and lord it over their subjects, but this is not to be among you, the greatest among you must be the servant of the rest etc

Compared to, thou shalt not lose, it doesn’t matter how you behave so long as you come out on top, thou shalt seek carnal pleasures, thou is good whatsoever is profitable to thee. morality is relative, nothing and nobody matters, so get what you can out of this life. etc

“I do not see why man should not be just as cruel as nature.”

The universe that we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but pitiless indifference.”
  • Richard Dawkins, in 2010 Over 2 Million copies sold. 2006 best seller.
This is the sort of thing which I believe we must combat.
However, when we start down the road of nitpicking over the superiority of other religions, especially other Christian religions, and in the process ignore the whole foundation of Christianity (love of God and neighbor) then we are committing serious error.
I believe it’s only when we start nitpicking over Christian and other similar and noble values and virtues, such as self sacrifice, mercy, loving thy neighbor and doing unto others as one would have done to them, and caring for the least of people etc. that we run into trouble.
I would not be Catholic if I did not believe Catholicism is the best religion. The sacraments, history, and being able to attend Mass all over the world are incredible.
I agree.
However, I would be a fool to tell my wife that she should not be a Protestant since she puts more time into her religion than I do.
My apologies, I’m not recommending anything like that. But if anything, I would recommend maybe sharing with her why your Catholic and maybe some books on Catholicism incase she might not be aware and therefore she can make an informed decision, but nevertheless, you are still united on core Christian values, the same would not be true if she were a devout follower of an entirely different religion/faith or militant atheist etc.
I don’t disagree with her. I am only disagreeing with the view that this could be practiced among a society that has no Christian values and therefore cannot relate to or adhere to Mother Teresa’s advice, but insofar as we can adhere to her advice, as we hold those same values, to be better at loving God and our neighbor and in so doing hopefully being a light for others to follow, I agree that it is good advice for us.

Anyway, if I could sum it up, I would say that what we need is for society to return to Christian values (a call I believe for Christians and non Christians alike), it’s the only thing that can save our nations which were founded on and flourished under such values.

My main disagreement with your “Christian values” theory is one of the “chicken vs egg” argument.

It is difficult to have Christian values without Christ. Thus, the most important issue from my perspective is people not seeing a need in their lives to seek God.

Many churches, including Catholic churches, are doing a good job of reaching people who go to church; however, most people don’t go. Thus, we are missing a message / movement to get people to go.

I don’t have such a message, but I believe it is worth pursuing, as well as the means to distribute such a message.

Right now, I am just trying to keep moving forward and walking through whatever door / opportunity that seems to be open, or at least worth investigating.

You started a message at the end of your previous post. This country/world is subject to judgement. JESUS is our hope. He told us not to fear for He has overcome the world with His ultimate sacrifice. For you! Even so, come LORD JESUS!

Interesting, so you think that seeking a better perspective could be part of a message of evangelization. That is something I need to think more about, hopefully as I improve my perspective.

I didn’t think I was qualified to say much about the “message” itself, rather I focus more on the delivery mechanism.

Probably any of it would require the (name removed by moderator)ut of several people to work. Spread of the message almost certainly depends on social media expertise since no single effort / publication could possibly achieve enough spread. So that is what I am trying to learn more about.

For example, I am intrigued with some of the web series that have been done in on line video. A series that took off and included comedy might engage people and be a platform to launch spinoff projects. So I am trying to learn more about this media, and plan to catch a live performance by a comedy team that are experts in this sort of thing.

My philosophy is to just walk through the next open door, and don’t count anyone out since where you start is rarely where you end up, and people who may not feel qualified for one media, may be interested in something else down the road.

To be honest, much of what I have read from the saints and other areas say, that the way back is Christ’s sorrowful Passion.
Jesus to Catalina:
I Have Given My Life for You - loveandmercy.org/Eng-IHG-Reg.pdf
(Roman Catholic Imprimatur)

**4) My Passion contains everything that you need today and tomorrow and it works marvellous miracles on all those who forget the world and themselves, in order to think of Me.
  1. When everything is subordinated to My sufferings, to My Will, then My Passion brings great benefits to souls.
  2. In the world, many words, too many are uttered! But if greater reasoning about Me, especially about My sorrow, were introduced [into the world], My Love would soon enkindle flames in your souls…
  3. Yet I am deprived of this delight: the stirring of souls to unite their sufferings to Mine in order to attain comfort and strength, generosity and patience, all that which is lacking in men and women of these times.
  4. They remove Me from nations, from households, from schools and even from many Christian installations. They do not want to exalt Christ crucified; they prefer to show Me to new generations as Christ Resurrected… as if Tabor could be separated from Calvary!
  5. Many do not understand that those who love Me as Christ crucified and acknowledge My sufferings, will also love My Presence in the Eucharist.
  6. But those who are ignorant of My Passion, will be unlikely to believe in and to love My Eucharistic Presence, alive, among them… **

**4) I wish to speak to you again about My Passion because when I do so, I want to spread in your hearts feelings of union with Me, of compassion… to show you My Love.
  1. When I was led to Calvary, there was condensed in Me all suffering which I always experienced, while thinking about the wickedness of mankind that so greatly offended a Father who is so good. That offended Love was what made Me suffer most, piercing My Soul at every sigh, at every step which brought Me closer to the crucifixion.
  2. How I wish that mankind would cultivate greater devotion to My Passion! For that reason, I insist upon it, even though many “theologians” feel repulsion in their stomachs when they contemplate a statue representing Me weeping or bleeding.
  3. My Passion is a compendium of Holy Love and supernatural Wisdom itself. Everything can be found during My hours of the Passion: every evil in the world transformed into good for eternity, and all the supernatural goodness of present mankind, united to the promise of the good that they may attain if they die protected by My Passion.
  4. It is for that reason that time and time again I insist on it for those who gaze upon My crucified self, and I invite them to be with Me in order to relive the dreadful, bloody hours that led Me to sacrifice Myself.
  5. Those who do not meditate on My sufferings, who do not compare them with their own, do not extract from the treasure chest of My Passion, the treasures that I have stored up for each one of you.
  6. I assure you that those who meditate on My sorrowful Passion will derive many Graces, because it is a treasure chest of infinitely enormous benefits. By the same token, those who have paid no attention or have forgotten My sufferings will always find emptiness and spiritual poverty.
  7. My sufferings will always be the Glory of My Father and My Glory, as well as the greatest demonstration of the Spirit of Love for you on earth.
  8. If you keep Me company while meditating on My Passion, I will make smooth your hardships, because as I have said, I always repay love with Love.**

Interesting. I am not familiar with how the Church rules on private revelations, but these posts look to be true as far as my limited knowledge goes.

Both Catalina, and St. Faustina seem to be emphasizing meditation on the Passion of Christ.

Today I went to a secular lecture on mindfulness. Mindfulness is definitely improved by meditation and numerous secular studies show improvements in a host of health related issues from this practice.

Thus, if you are a Christian, it makes sense to include Christ in this practice. The Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary would focus on this, as well as any meditation on Gospel passages about the Passion.

If you think about it, all evil is amplified in the mind, apart from the present moment.
Thus, it makes sense that practices that bring a person back to the present moment could brake this cycle. If the person also comes back to the present moment in Christ, that should be even more effective as the revelations tell us.
