The Israelites were instructed by God not to eat the blood of any animal:
*“Wherever you dwell, you shall not partake of any blood, be it of bird or of animal. Every person who partakes of any blood shall be cut off from his people.” *
(Leviticus 7:26-27)
And it is again emphasized in the New Testament, in a letter from Paul and Barnabas:
*"‘It is the decision of the holy Spirit and of us not to place on you any burden beyond these necessities, namely, to abstain from meat sacrificed to idols, from blood, from meats of strangled animals, and from unlawful marriage. If you keep free of these, you will be doing what is right. Farewell.’" * (Acts 15:28-29)
This is the same Paul who stated that we are set free from the Law by faith. Why this discrepancy? And should Christians adhere to this principle?
