I recently saw a movie set in Eastern Europe. There was a man in clerical attire with a blue collar. What does a blue collar signify, or was that just a “Hollywood” fabrication?

I doubt you may have seen it (my taste in movies is kind of eccentric). It was called “Prophecy 4” - the fourth in a series of movies about angels being jealous of humanity and fomenting a heavenly war. The cleric was playing a percussion instrument made of wood.

Is Christopher Walken is #4?

Ahhh! A kindred soul! Unfortunately, no. Christopher Walken stopped at #3. The original series was only intended to be a Trilogy, but I guess it was a popular enough to be able to take off on a franchise. The next three actually breaks a bit with the traditional plot, and is about an angel rebelling against Satan, and wanting to set up his own hegemony by re-writing the book of Revelation. Satan ends up being the “hero” by defending God’s order in Revelation. His reasoning, of course, is anything but holy - he feels that he will gain more souls in hell by defending God’s order.

Well, enough of Hollywood fantasy.

Does anyone know anything about the blue collar I saw being worn by an Eastern cleric, or was that just a Hollywood fabrication?

As far as I am aware only concern for collar color was amount the Gusars or Husars of various military Polks in Tsarists days. Those polks with blue collars were the Iz’umskij, Leib Gvardia, Gvardnenski and Pavlogradski. Maybe film tries to make military person into a kind of clerical person? Beneath picture is Leib Gvardia Husar with blue collar color (hard to say such two words)

Try “Shadows of Our Forgotten Ancestor” for “eccentric”…
