Blue in Liturgical Colors

Blue is an Episcopalian liturgical color used during the Advent season.

It isn’t used in the Catholic Church for liturgy.

Some orders of nuns however have blue habits.

It is used in Spanish speaking lands, and is very much used in Eastern Catholicism. Go to any Ukrainian/Ruthenian Church and you’ll see blue quite frequently.

It’s not permissable for Latin Catholicism here in the US.
 
It’s used in Tanzania as well for Marian feasts.

So it’s not universally normative, but if a Bishop’s Conference request it, it seems to be readily granted.
