Harrisburg, PA – Senator Bob Casey has withdrawn his plans to give the commencement address at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Casey gave no reason for withdrawing, but his decision follows a public reprimand by Catholic Bishop Joseph Martino for a recent pro-abortion vote he cast.

Martino, of the Diocese of Scranton, took Casey to task in February for voting to fund groups that promote and perform abortions overseas.

Good work Bishop. All Bishops need to call these politicians to task, especially the ones who like to call themselves Catholic. The only step that many of the pro-abortion politicians lack is formal excommunication, as they have fulfilled the requirements for such. If you want it your own way, instead of God’s way, go be a Protestant.

The Bishop is showing courage. Bob Casey has none, his father had it all. Carey will continue to vote the liberal line in the Senate.
