Michael Welter:
I’m a little surprised that the forum moderators haven’t cracked down on the first post in this thread. Copying the text of a published article is a copyright infringement, unless permission is granted, in which case it must state so.

Those who desecrate our Lord will not go unpunished. :tsktsk:
It appears the OP followed the rules, as he provided a link to the original article along with his partial quote.

From CA content rules;

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=2

Discussion of a controversial news event must reference at least one publicly-available news report on the subject. This can be in the form of a link, a partial quote and a link, or a posted photo (as appropriate)

It also states “Do not post copyrighted material.” All news organizations copyright their material.

Michael Welter:
Whether or not they’ve given up cracking down isn’t the point. Copyright infringement is illegal, and, as Christians, we are bound to obey the laws of our civil authorities. See Romans 13. Breaking the law is a sin, even if we don’t get caught.

Sorry for the off-topic post. We now return you to your regularly scheduled discussion . . . :cool:
As I said I wasn’t aware, and didn’t know the law applied to posting such articles online.

So I will refrain from posting such articles in the future, and will only post “part” of the article and a link to the copyrighted source.

My apologies…

Anyway back to the discussion at hand
