When one receives the body of Christ in the Eucharist, are we receiving his pre-resurrection body or his resurrected glorified body?

This is a very good question. If you think about it, it MUST be the glorified Resurrection body.

But it is also the “same” body he had when he walked among us as a man. That’s the whole point of Resurrection as differentiated from resuscitation. As you say: glorified.

If I recall correctly,

During the Eucharistic Prayers, the priest holds up Jesus’ Body and then His Blood, separately. This signifies His Sacrifice on the Cross.

But after the Lamb of God, the priest holds up the Body and Blood together. This is Jesus’ Risen Body.

I was just wondering about that last week at Mass. I’ll have to mention that to my rider (she’s also the RCIA director).

Thanks mercygate, notworthy, and Jennifer G. Had never thought about it until this past weekend when the priest at mass mentioned that it was the glorified body.

Glorified. If you look at the actions of the priest during the Agnus Dei you will see that he puts a piece of the body into the chalice of the blood (comingling). That is when we are fully aware of the resurrection of the glorified body.
