It might help if you study up on Relics, God Bless, Memaw.I don’t mean to be disrespectful but am I the only one that finds this creepy? Transporting dead bodies, even of saints, around the world to put them on display?
I worry so much the body will be tampered with in our evil times.
Exactly. I was thinking that when I read the article. There was no comment section at the time so I couldn’t comment.:tsktsk: (St) Padre Pio was a Friar

This is a bit embarrassing and also off topic but…I’ve never really been clear on the difference between a monk and a friar. Does the term “Friar” always only refer to the Mendicant orders?:tsktsk: (St) Padre Pio was a Friar

That probably won’t help me. Having a bone or skull doesn’t bother me as much as a whole body to transport around. It might help if you study up on Relics, God Bless, Memaw.
One can have done such studying, and still find the practice personally “creepy” and not edifying or inspirational. I was once in a shrine and found myself looking at a saint’s entire detached arm. It was unclear to me, then and now, why that should have inspired me or fostered feelings of devotion. It might help if you study up on Relics, God Bless, Memaw.
“Friar” comes from"brother" and indeed refers to the mendicants - who serve in the wider world. This is a bit embarrassing and also off topic but…I’ve never really been clear on the difference between a monk and a friar. Does the term “Friar” always only refer to the Mendicant orders?
