Hey everyone, 🌷

I have bought this book, and am anticipating to start it tomorrow, Monday 6 August and to end on the Nativity of Mary, 8 September.

Has anyone else completed it? What was your experience like?

I’m a bit excited!

God bless,
LF

Seems really good. Meditating on Mary is one of my favorite things.

I’m hoping it is! It seems very well put together and easy to follow.

Quite excited! ā˜ŗļø

Great book … very inspirational … you will enjoy the experience and grow in your love of Mary.

Mary totally took over my life after I made that consecration through that book! I can see it now clearly in hindsight. Life-changing! I owe so so much to Her!

Edit: Some days you really won’t feel like reading it or doing the meditation or what have you. But persevere! šŸ™‚ You will grow in learning just how intimately we are connected to Our Lady, especially when we freely give ourselves to Her as She has already done for us by becoming Our Mother.

It is a bit too passive for me. The ā€œpondering in your heartā€ is a bit hard for me to understand.

@SeriousQuestion

My old spiritual director gave a good explanation of this to me once. Interestingly, her name was Mary šŸ˜›

Here’s what she said: the devil is unable to reach our hearts. He can give suggestions to us in our thoughts and such, but he cannot touch our hearts. So when we enter quietly into our hearts and truly ponder Gods presence therein and also how He acts in our lives, we are doing it 1. In Gods presence and therfore, with God. 2. Safe from the enemy’s influence.

All of that is paraphrased, but I hope the jist of it comes across 😬

I have it and I like it. The first time I made my consecration I used the Saint Louis DeMontfort one. I follow his advice and each year 33 days before my consecration anniversary I either re-read his or 33 Days to Morning Glory; I alternate years back and forth. To me they both have a lot to offer, and I like the way they both point out and showcase different angles of the same truths.

Thank you all for your replies! 🌷

I’m starting it today (or tonight really). šŸ’— I’m trying to find peace at the moment, and have heard great things about it on that front.

I’m on to Day 3, and maybe it’s just me but I’m feeling a bit more at peace and able to reflect better. 🌷

The readings are really insightful, albeit short.

I am experiencing quite a do-over at the moment. :pray:t2:

Thank God! 🌷

I’m undergoing Mary consecration at my parish right now, and this is the book we are using! It has been so illuminating and helpful to me to better understand why true devotion to Mary is very important in our faith. I am on the final days right now in the book. It has really helped strengthen my faith!

I will formally make my consecration to Our Lady this Wednesday on the Day of Assumption, and I am most excited! I am absolutely thrilled and so happy to give myself over to her to keep me as her possession, to protect me, and to constantly have her pull me closer and closer to her Divine Son. She has already brought me closer to Jesus than I ever thought possible! I have deepened my prayer life and I encourage anyone who hasn’t consecrated themselves to Our Lady to please do so!

Dear LF

I too began the 33 Day Preparation on Aug. 6 to renew my Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, but I continue to use St. Louis De Montfort’s treatise on ā€œTrue Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Maryā€

At a friend’s suggestion, I also read ā€œ33 Days to Gloryā€, and while I appreciated the author’s use of examples and writings, I continue to go back to the original treatise of St. Louis De Montfort. It just seems to me there are deeper insights in the original treatise.

However, if the book you are reading is helping you, I rejoice that you are drawing closer to Mary, knowing she will help you to know love and serve her Son. Your comment that you were experiencing a ā€œdo-overā€ is what St. Louis De Montfort encourages during the first 12 days of seeking to empty oneself of the spirit of the world.

I’ve also been writing threads on this Forum on each day of this journey of 33 Days. I’ve renewed my Consecration often because it is such a help to me in my longing to be like Mary our Mother – as St. Luke describes her in his Gospel writing that Mary pondered in her heart all Jesus said and did.

Please, let us pray for one another and for all those who are making this 33 Day Journey of Preparation for Consecration, – that we may glorify God and become more like our Mother Mary, in building up the Body of Christ in love. (cf Eph 4 esp verses 15-16).

Jesus told us (through John his beloved disciple) on Calvary, ā€œBehold Your Motherā€ and John obediently took Mary into his life as well as his home. We ā€œseeā€ that Mary is truly as the Church teaches all that we as human persons are called to be. (cf Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraphs #963 - 972)

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your Faithful. kindle in us the Fire of your Love.
Mary, Mother and Model of the Church, pray for us.
St. Louis de Montfort, pray for us.
