Book: Climbing the Mountain by "Anne"

My husband just finished reading this book (someone gave it to him) and I can’t really find anything about “Anne” and the spirituality other than their website: www.directionforourtimes.com

Anyone out there have any experience of this woman and group (other than just their website)?

I’m reading her books right now. But they are considered private revelation that have not yet been approved by the Church so can’t discuss them here.

Do the supporters of all these Medj spinoffs (“Anne”, Nancy Fowler, William Kamm, Vassula Ryden et al) really think the Blessed Mother – a woman of few words if there ever was one – would go on producing all this rambling verbiage for decades on end?

False mysticism not only discredits the Church in the eyes of non-Catholics, it dissipates the energies of Catholics. That the Rosary, Adoration, the five first Saturdays of reparation Our Lady asked for at Fatima, should lose followers to these hysterical divorcees is beyond intolerable.

I agree that certain books should be but in question. As to say that people can claim and will claim the “unexplainable” and try to capture our attention. However, just as what apostle Paul states is that we should look at the fruits in which somebody is preaching/saying. If the fruit is good or drawing people to Christ and to his church then that is a VERY good fruit being planted. God dose and will reveal himself to us and through us to carry out his will. He allows us to use his gifts/visions to understand his will and to share that experience with others. Consider using Christianity as a person who is Jewish or any other Religion: Christianity was labeled as a rebellion to the Roman emperor and thus KILLED those who believed in Jesus. Yet, when somebody says that I have talked to God they are labeled a heretic and that I can’t listen to you because you are not of my religion?
God is a LIVING being and is not BOUND by anything. Behold, I am breathing on you the holy spirit sent on high to remind you all that I have said and will REVEAL ALL truth unto you. I have much to tell you but you can’t bear it NOW.
Even the church still to this day will say that God is still teaching us certain aspects. Consider Mary for example: Mary was not a very active/leading role in accordance with the bible. Which is why a lot of Evangelical Christians can’t understand as why catholics uphold Mary highly. The early church through reading scripture and through God intervention revealed the importance of Mary and thus establishing her were she needs to be.

“Climbing the Mountain” is an excellent book and contains nothing in its contents that is contrary to Catholic beliefs. Dr. Mark Miravalle from the Franciscan University of Steubenville has written positive comments about the book, and a Catholic priest is in charge of a world-wide lay apostolate group that has come out of Anne’s writings. Compassion and mercy are a main theme in the books, and many people have returned to the Catholic faith or have had a renewal of their Catholic faith as a result of reading them. If someone is being drawn closer to God and his/her faith because of a writing that is NOT contrary to the Catholic Church, I believe it is a good thing.
 
I have been practicing the spiritual requirements of a lay apostle as described by Anne in the book and volumes. It has certainly been helpful in the improvement of my spiritual life.

Wouldn’t Jesus be happy with anyone that spent an hour of Eucharistic Adoration weekly, went to monthly Confession, prayed the Luminous Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, and tried to live like He did treating all others with His patience and kindness?

I see these practices as making anyone a better christian.
