Hi everyone,

My grandmother was originally protestant, became a Catholic when she married my grandfather, and when he died, she eventually found herself in a Low Anglican church, known as “The church of living waters”. She is very open with discussion with me regarding the Catholic faith, and she always stands up for Catholics when members in her Church spread misconceptions about us. I was hoping to give her a book that might tip her over the edge.

I have read Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic, and I thought it was excellent, however I dont think they are a fundamentalist group. So I was thinking a different book may be better such as Hahns Rome Sweet Rome. But I have not read it. Has anyone read both, or read another book that may be more suited to her situation that they could recommend?

Why Catholics Are Right’ by Michael Coren might be a good choice. It refutes a lot of anti-Catholic myths. ‘The Lamb’s Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth’ by Scott Hahn, ‘Hail, Holy Queen’ by Scott Hahn, ‘Surprised by Truth: 11 Converts Give the Biblical and Historical Reasons for Becoming Catholic’ by Patrick Madrid, ‘Catholicism and Fundamentalism’ by Karl Keating.

Thank you,

I dont think its any Catholic myths holding her back, as she often rebutes people who promote Catholic myths. But if this book also contains some apologetics such as why one should be Catholic and not Protestant, it may make a good option 🙂

I added some more. 👍

I enjoy Marcus Grodi’s THE JOURNEY HOME on EWTN.Each week he interviews a convert who explains why he/she came into the Catholic Church. You can google his website and bring up conversion stories from Anglican to Catholi and many others which she can read.

CATHOLICISM FOR DUMMIES, a book, is also very good.

‘Catholic and Christian’ by Alan Schreck 👍 it is very easy to read.
