Has anyone read the new book by Victor Stenger entitled, God, The Failed Hypothesis? It seems to be getting a fair amount of attention and like all books by atheists, it claims to disprove the existence of God. Would someone like to weigh in on the merit of this scientist’s arguments against the existence of God?

A favorable review from a reader:

“But if we cannot be immortal (at least our soul), what is life’s meaning? Stenger also provides some answers such as learn science, diminish the suffering, enjoy life and also quotes Aristotle’s answers: contemplation, politics and the pursuit of pleasure which should equate approximately with the previous three.”

Assuming Stenger is correct and there is no God and no immortal soul, then I am at my free will to define by “pursuit of pleasure” and nobody can tell me otherwise. Think about what this means. No objective truth, no law no reason for law. If everyone felt as Stenger, imagine the chaos.
