Hi friends…
Just wanted to share about a really great book I’m reading.
It’s full of what I call “connections” … those tidbits of info that make you say “Oh, cool…I never thought of it that way!”
Just for example, in the story of Abraham and his son Issac, when they’re headed up the mountain. Abraham, the father, makes Issac the son, carry the wood on his back, up the hill, for the sacrifice… well, that is so eerily similar to the Passion of Christ.
God the Father, has Jesus his son, carry the wood of the cross, on his back, up the hill to Calvary, for the supreme sacrifice.
Only in the story of Abraham…Issac is spared…but in the Passion of Christ…Jesus isn’t
But I had never made that “connection” before and I’ve read both stories, multiple times.
The book is by Fr. Robert Barron, and is entitled “Word On Fire”
I recommend it highly
