Has anyone read Metaphors we live by (George Lakoff and Mark Johnsen, 2003)? If so do you have any thoughts on it from the p.o.v. of Christian philosophy? (Non-Christians are also welcome to respond, but I’d like to keep the focus on the thinking of Catholics and other Christians.)

Wonderful for helping readers understand the deep nature of metaphorical language. Should be required reading for any serious student of the Bible.
 
Thanks for that post Dave. 🙂 (I just now revisited this thread after 2 months, and was surprised to discover that I never responded to your post.)

I don’t necessarily recommend that people read the entire book, but I think it would be very helpful if everyone at least read a bit of it, to see how common metaphor is.
