Have just finished watching youtube video about the BoA really good piece of work that to my mind leaves no doubt that this book is not what it claims. It beggars belief that mormons still hang on to this as scripture, I really cannot understand it except to think that God has given them up to their delusion, and that is so sad. However, having particpated in some threads on mormondialogue.org, I have come to the conclusion that mormonism so appeals to human pride that it completely blinds them to God’s truth, and for that they have to bear responsibility.

I remember some early posts with Mormon posters (who are long gone) and they vehemently denied the BoA as authentic.

Please elaborate on what you said about momonism appealing to human pride - I am interested in hearing your thoughts and experiences.

Also, after reading An Insider’s View of Mormon Origins I have also come to the conclusion that there is no doubt the BoA is a fraud.

Hello Lax, where have you been? It’s been a bit quiet without you.
I think for me, at the core of it, is the premise that ‘As God is, man may become’ this I think reflects supreme pride, also the whole mormon theory of exaltation to Godhood. It is of course very appealing, and makes God perhaps more understandable to the human mind, but it also reduces him to a created being, which the bible shows he definitely is not. One of the works they also use to promote the idea that God is one of many is of course the Book of Abraham, which has been shown, especially in the video mentioned, to be a false translation by JS of the Egyption papyri, but mormons tenaciously cling onto it as scripture, which to a point I can understand, but the evidence against it is, I believe, compelling.

God hasn’t give up on anyone. 🙂 Pray for them, as the delusion falls, that they turn to Christ, and not the empty wasteland of a godless world. Pray for us all, “God keep us with you.” 🙂

Thanks Rebecca, prayer is the most effective weapon we have, they are always in my thoughts and prayers.

I have been around posting on some of the Mormon threads but not one person has answered my questions.
It’s been quiet without me…uh oh…I hope in a good way.😉

I cannot understand why anyone would want to be like God or know God inside and out. I do not feel that is my purpose in life. Obedience to God is what it is all about. I am baffled by the Mormon desire to create a God like that.

I also don’t understand how Mormons can claim Jesus as their Messiah and yet disregard that he was a religious Jew and that Jews have a completely different concept of God…

Yes, there is a lot of info available about the BoA - I am surprised they still claim there is a shred of truth to it.
