Hello all,

Is there a Catholic commentary on the Book of Revelation that would describe the Catholic position in detail? I would like to see it or buy it if possible. I know the Church (according to CA) teaches amillenialism, but I want to look at detail chapter by chapter and verse by verse if it is available.

Thank you in advance!

Peace…

On another thread I found a post with a great link that helps in what I was looking for. I thank the poster.

Your welcome! :tiphat:

The OP of that thread started up a website that might also be helpful:

litteralchristianlibrary.wetpaint.com/

He started up a catena on Revelation and has the first 6 chapters up there. He also has some links to some Early Church Fathers on Revelation.

You might also try the Haydock Bible Commentary for additional insights.

And, of course, there’s always Scott Hahn’s The Lamb’s Supper! It links the book of Revelation with the liturgy.

I agree with the comments about the Haydock commentary and “The Lamb’s Supper” by Scott Hahn, which I just read.

I went through a bible study by Jeff Cavins on Revelation last year (ascensionpress.com/shop/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=358) and besides the Scott Hahn book, the Navarre Bible Commentary on Revelation was recommended:

Here are some links to what I have done. I made a commentary on Revelation1-6, and I have compiled a catena of 1-6 with more quotes from the Fathers and Doctors of the Church than any other source. Here it is litteralchristianlibrary.wetpaint.com/page/My+Personal+commentary+Rev.+4-6

Here are 3 Church Fathers commentaries,

St. Victorinus

Hi Answers,

I am looking for a little help understanding Revelation from a Catholic POV. We are in a scripture study w/ some protestants and using LifeGuide Study books that are Protestant. I’d like to find on-line help if it’s available. We looked at the lessons and wondered what came over us in picking this book. OH DEAR!

I’ve written a commentary on Revelation that I highly recommend litteralchristianlibrary.wetpaint.com/page/Commentary+on+Revelation+by+John+Litteral

I am now working on a Study Bible and actually working on Revelation in which I am providing footnotes from the saints and medieval commentators. Right now I am only on chapter 7, but here it is as well ocsb.wetpaint.com/

If you want one on one help feel free to contact me litteralchristianlibrary.wetpaint.com/page/Contact+me
