I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a book regarding marriage and infidelity. I would prefer a catholic standpoint that discusses how both parties can overcome infidelity and work to improve marriage. Thanks

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”. So – confessing to God our individual sin. Is the person sorry he/she got Caught in the infidelity or genuinely sorry for being unfaithful to their spouse?

Talking about the situation – being willing to listen to the other person – accepting whatever responsibility each person Had in the infidelity. The why’s and wherefore’s of the situation having developed in the first place. What steps need to be taken by each spouse to be able to rebuild a solid foundation for the marriage.

Both parties need to be Willing to forgive the other.

Be willing to put God in the center of the marriage. Getting together with the pastor and wife or some other couple as an ‘accountability’ partnership.

Realize that rebuilding trust in the other person can take time.

And, unfortunately, some marriages Can’t be salvaged. It’s thought to be Easier to move Past a ‘bad marriage’ / end the marriage / and either remain ‘single’ / get counseling to find out what ‘your’ part was so as to enable ‘You’ to become the person God wants You to be ‘now’ and in the future.

And some choose to remarry the person who they cheated With. One problem with That is how does the New spouse know he/she won’t be cheated On.

Marriage takes Work – we want the romance to continue even through the flu bugs and the unplanned pregnancy or the loss of the job. We want the “'for better, for richer, in good health” – and tend to run away from the Other part.

So - this has been My book 🙂 having been through it.
