Book proving Catholicism

Is there a good book proving the truth of the Catholic faith (similar to Case for Christ, or Prepared to Answer that Protestants have)?

If the person you are talking to is very educated and a scholarly person coming from an evangelical background Crossing The Tiber by Steve Ray would be a great choice.

If they are someone who left the Church years ago and bought into the classic anti-Catholic myths, then Karl Keatings book Catholicism and Fundamentalism would be a good choice.

If they are strictly hardcore Bible only people Some of Dave Armstrong’s books would be good.

If you are talking about someone who doesn’t have a lot of religious background, but is a faithfilled person, they just never really made it a priority and aren’t well versed in religion, but have a desire, then Why we’re Catholic by Trent Horn would be a good choice as well as the Surprised by Truth series by Patrick Madrid. But as you can tell, there are as many choices out there as there are unique individuals.
 
Peter Kreeft, Brandt Pitre, and Scott Hahn are all good. There’s dozens of books between those three alone.

It seems to me the Truth of our faith is substantiated in a collection of books we have come to call the Holy Bible.

This seems a bit simplistic, but it’s true. Suggest that someone read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. It’s hard to resist falling in love with Christ through the gospels.
Of course that doesn’t prove Catholicism, but many people may realize how much scripture is in the liturgy.

As a totally uncatechized Catholic being a “mere Christian,” I read Home Sweet Rome by Scott and Kimberly Hahn on Wednesday and went to Mass on Sunday, so I always recommend HSR 🙂

There’s no single book, I think, that can do this. The Bible itself says that the world couldn’t contain the writings of all the great things that Jesus did, so how could we hope to “prove” Jesus and His Church in one book?

There are great books out there that will provide you with great proofs for various Catholic concepts. If you’re looking to prove the Real Presence, nothing I’ve read does so quite like Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist by Brant Pitre. For the Papacy, all the serious reading I’ve done on the subject is from St. John Chrysostom’s Treatise on the Priesthood and his commentary on the sixteenth chapter of Matthew’s gospel. That’s heavier reading, though, so it shouldn’t be your first selection.
