Book Recommendations

Hi Everyone,

I posted this on the Back Fence forum earlier today, but it probably would have been better to post it here. Since I don’t know how to move threads (is it even allowed?), I’m re-posting it here.

With Christmas approaching soon, I started thinking about things that I might ask for or buy for Christmas. I came across three books that I think might be good reads, and I wanted to ask if anybody on this forum has read them, too.

They are as follows:

1. Hiding in the Light: Why I Risked Everything to Leave Islam and Follow Jesus by Rifqa Bary

Some of you might know about her story already. She was born in Sri Lanka and secretly converted to Christianity at the age of 13, running away from home four years later when her secret had been discovered. It’s a story of some perhaps personal interest to me as it happened in the state of Ohio, the same state where I currently live.

1. Pontius Pilate: A Novel by Paul K. Maier

I am a student of Ancient Rome, and anything even loosely connected to the Roman Empire will usually be something of interest to me. I also feel that Pontius Pilate is also a particularly interesting part of the Gospels. Only appearing in one scene, he still plays an extremely important role in it.

1. Claudia, Wife of Pontius Pilate: A Novel by Diane Wallis Taylor

Same reasons as above, Claudia (as she is often called) only appears in a single sentence in the Gospels.

Has anyone on this forum read any of these books before?
