I have an 18 year old leavIng for the Navy shortly. She doesn’t pray much and I thought there might be a good book of prayers or something on praying that I could send with her. Also maybe a book of questions and answers on the Faith.

Thanks

I think in general Amy Welborn’s books are really good for young adults that age. She has a series called “Prove It” and one is on Prayer. I’d recommend getting the whole series.

The new YouCat is in a Question and Answer format and might be good for that.

For prayers, I’ve always like the Handbook of Prayers. It’s a nice compact book with all the basic Catholic prayers and then some.

I’m currently reading “What’s so great about Christianity?” by Dinnish D’Souza, and it’s AWESOME in terms of answering atheists.

I agree with Joe 5858. I also like the Handbook of Prayers.

As a book of questions and answers on the faith what could be better than The Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It goes through the teachings of the Church in question and answer format.

Here is the online version (book version can be bought):
