I read it often.
Some Saints, including St. Theresa of Lisieux, kept the Imitation of Christ, as their prime source of spiritual reading,
next to the Bible.

I read nearly the entire book, about a chapter a day, a year ago, and thought it was fabulous! I was experiencing an intense “re-conversion,” and my main reading materials were the Bible, The Imitation of Christ, and Introduction to the Devout Life. Great stuff!

I have a copy that I have read. The format can be a bit hard to follow at times. Therese de Liseux mentions it in her Story of a Soul as instrumental in her formation. St. Louis deMontfort includes excerpts in his Preparation for Consecration to Mary in True Devotion to Mary. Members of a prayer group at one of the other parishes was using it for a while for a book club study.

Its a great book of Christian wisdom - directly based on scripture. You can find some modern translations and even some which include scripture references to where the “wisdom” is derived from the Bible.Anyone read this book? I don’t know much about it, other than that it is an ancient writing. Many different versions and translations out there.

It’s thick, at least… spiritually/content-wise. Book 3 (all in one “bound” book, but separated into 4 parts) was the longest for me. i read the titles of book 4, and wanted to get there faster. but, I trudged on through. I would highly recommend it. It spoke to me almost every time I read it.Anyone read this book? I don’t know much about it, other than that it is an ancient writing.
