I finished reading this book yesterday and I liked it so much I thought I would make a recommend to others.
It is by Edward Healy Thompson, M.A. originally pub in 1888 now put out by TAN in 1980.
From back cover: …This book will astound most readers both with its scope and with it’s profundity. This book, based mainly on Scripture, but supported also by Sacred Tradition and the deposition of saints, is a carefully reasoned analysis of the entirety of St. Joseph’s role in the history of Salvation and the life of the Church. This is a “must read” for husbands, fathers, and working men.
No words of St. Joseph are recorded in Scripture. Nonetheless, the Church possesses indescribably rich knowledge of this great Saint and of his cultus…he is honored as the husband of Mary, the foster-father of Jesus, and the Patron of the Universal Church.
I for one, truly enjoyed this book, it was full of insights into this man who was part of the Life of Jesus. You can find it on Amazon.
