i have read the book by bill o’reilly Killing Kennedy and really enjoyed it. i was 11 when Kennedy was assasinated so i remember a lot of that weekend and have read several books like Death of a President and the Warren Commission Report among others. i thought that the book was o’reilly was well written and well researched.
i am almost finished with Killling Lincoln and it has also been very good and easy to read.
of course, i was more knowledgeable of the Kennedy assassination than the Lincoln assassination.

i was wondering what others had thought of these two books. i am thinking of reading Killing Jesus after i finish Killing Lincoln.

My husband has read all three. Remember when you read “Killing Jesus” that it is a history book not a religious book. He just reports on what can be verified by the authorities at the time. That is why he says nothing or much on what Jesus said from the cross while dying.

Some liked it and some didn’t but that is to be expected about every book people review.

yeah, i think there was a thread on Killing Jesus that i read before christmas and there were a lot of people who criticized the book and others liked it. i love history and i learned history i didn’t know from both Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy so i figured i would learn a lot of history that was important in Killing Jesus. Killing Lincoln made me realize there is so much history that i do not know about the Civil War!

I read Killing Lincoln over the summer and loved it!

I’m going to read Killing Jesus when I find some extra time.

I’ve read Killing Jesus and Killing Lincoln.

Both are great for the history.

I understood BOR was writing history and not teaching religion; therefore he wrote that our LORD’s “body was never found” rather than He rose again. I’m not bothered by that.

The Mister and I have both read Killing Jesus. It is very graphic and very intense but a good book. Mr. O’Reilly states at the outset that it is not their intention to convert anyone to any religious thought, but to give an historical context. For me the book was a character study, not of Jesus necessarily, but of those persons who surrounded Him and set events into motion. It DID show Jesus in a very human light. I highly recommend it.

thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut. i finished Killing Lincoln last night. i enjoyed it.

today i put a hold on Killing Jesus at the library. unfortunately, there are 5 people ahead of me, so it might be awhile before i get to read it. the books are easy to read i find and really hard to put down.

from those of you who have read Killing Jesus i am anxious to read it now after reading your posts. 👍

I read both Killing Kennedy and Killing Lincoln early last year, and I enjoyed both books. Both had insights that I had not read before, especially the Killing Lincoln book. Both books are well done and as you noted easy to read.

“insight” is a very good word to use. i agree with you. thanks for sharing your thoughts. 🙂

Bill O’Reilly is not a good Catholic. He is a bully, and settled a sexual harassment case brought against him by a former producer. Read the complaint linked below and you can see why. The man uses his writings and his Catholic moral arrogance to deceive. He is an unpleasant person solely concerned about money, power, and using women.

I won’t read anything from him, and can’t watch his show, because it is all about serving himself not anyone else. I mean let’s see, he wrote two books about our most lionized presidents, and then wrote a book about Jesus. Yeah, he gives a lot of money to charity. It is a smokescreen.

He gives Catholicism a bad name.
