The Catholic classics, nothing new: just time tested rich material.
These are on my list, help me expand it:
-The Holy Bible
-The Imitation of Christ
-Dark Night of the Soul
-Interior Castle
…I can’t think of any others right now…I know there are lots more.
 
True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort.

Less mandatory, but I also like Everlasting Man by G.K. Chesterton, the Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ by Anne Catherine Emmerich, the Way of Perfection by St. Teresa of Avila and the Holy Mass by Dom Prosper Gueranger.
 
yes the Bible is a must.

I believe that not every book is meant for everybody. The greatest book is the one that is needed the most for the current state of that soul. When this soul goes on to the next stage of his spiritual journey, another book can become the most important one.

Every time, we stop by a bookstore, ask the Holy Spirit to pick a book for you. You’ll be surprised how much the book means to you. 🙂

I love St. Faustina’s Diary and would recommend it to all Catholics. Not to mention the Mystical City of God by Ven. Mary Agreda. I would also add the lives of the Saints to your list, although it isn’t one specific book.

And I don’t think you can really go wrong with anything by Scott Hahn 🙂

time Management for Catholics by Dave Durand (Sofia Inst. Press)
Spiritual Passages by Fr. Groeschell
Rule of St. Benedict
Making Sense of Scripture: REading the Bibles as the first apostles did
Durand has an excellent reading list at the back of his book as well.
 
These are a few that I found to be my most important:

Baltimore Catechism

This Is The Faith by Canon Francis Ripley (along with the Baltimore Catechism the best two catechisms I’ve seen)

Rome Sweet Home by Scott Hahn

Your Life is Worth Living by Archbishop Fulton Sheen

the imitation of christ is good…i’ve had a copy for years:thumbsup:

i’ve been wanting a copy of dark night of the soul…and interior castle…haven’t gotten round to getting it yet:rolleyes:

you can get those and a lot of other good catholic books (some of which are out of print…and which tan have put back in to circulation) from tan books and publishers inc…

In Imitation of Christ by Thomas A Kempis(has lots of excellent advice on how to serve God)

The Confessions of St.Augustine(From a great sinner to a great saint…very interesting)

The Catechism( I cant read that yet,its very long and complicated)

Catholichism for dummies(makes the faith easy to understand)

To add to Dark Night of the Soul (which is actually a sequel) you could begin at the beginning with St John of the Cross’s*** Ascent of Mount Carmel***

The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence

And anything by the late great John Paul II.
