Hi! I am a Roman Catholic and I have this drive that I need to study apologetics because people around me are getting converted to born-again christians. Also when in front of a born-again christian I often lack the evidence or explanation to defend my catholic belief. Honestly, I think the teachings in catholic schools and the church is not enough for us to defend our faith against other religions, especially protestants. Now, I come about this drive to study more about the catholic faith so I can defend my faith and moreover to try and convert others back to catholicism. Now, I do not know where to start or what to read. Can you recommend a"GOOD" book as reference for starting Apologetics? I’ve seen some books on the net but I don’t want to risk on buying the wrong book.

Godspeed! Thanks in Advance!

My suggestions:

General Apologetics
The Essential Catholic Survival Guide (TECSG) by the staff of Catholic Answers*
Catholicism and Fundamentalism: The Attack on Romanism by Bible Christians by Karl Keating. (Some of this book will over lap with TECSG because Karl is the President of Catholic Answers)
A Biblical Defense of Catholicism by Dave Armstrong
The Catholic Verses by Dave Armstrong
Beginning Apologetics series by Father Frank Chacon and Jim Burnham*
Where Is That in the Bible? by Patrick Madrid
Why Is That in Tradition? by Patrick Madrid
Answer Me This by Patrick Madrid

All of these can be found on Amazon, I hope this helps get you started!

I would also highly recommend that you search a topic here where you can get articles from the apologetics magazine This Rock about whatever subject you like!
  • I recommend these two above the others and Beginning Apologetics above TECSG because it has more information and is more substantial.
